then surely questions should be asked in the house about the parties anti Semitic stance.
danny from your link
"The inquiry, led by Shami Chakrabarti, concluded that the party “is not overrun by antisemitism, Islamophobia or other forms of racism”. Although the report did concede that the party experienced “an occasionally toxic atmosphere

what the hell does toxic atmosphere mean in this context.
I am not sure I understand where this debate is going.

Corbyn has sacked one of front bench team, for attending this so-called charity do, but I can imagine what all our righties would be saying if he hadn't.

Corbyn is being damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
mikey; //I am with Theresa on this.//

What with this, and a few other comments of yours lately is leading me to wonder if I do not detect a slight softening of your normal stance - would I be correct in thinking that? If I may use you as a barometer, then Corbyn is doomed! :0)
we are saying that its because he is a Jewish moderate, that he has been asked to stand down, not just because he attended a charity event. Your party is leaning heavily to the left and that does no one any favours.
Khandro....you need have no worries that I am turning into a Tory !

But when Theresa has opinions that coincide with mine, than I am more than happy to agree with her. She was very vocal in her condemnation of Trump over his support for BF, and I also happen to agree with her about The Dorchester event.

Nothing more interesting than that !
Mikey, //this so-called charity do//

It wasn’t ‘so-called’. It raised £2million for charity.

As a ‘rightie’ I wouldn’t expect anyone to be sacked for attending. As I understand it the event has been happening for over 30 years and is supported by some very eminent names. This is a fuss over nothing – as is becoming the norm these days – but I’ve no doubt multi-faced Corbyn has found it very useful.
There is nothing untoward reported about this man's behaviour, yet mikey thinks he should be punished ... guilty by association I guess.

Now ... what could we say about Corbyn if we are going along the lines of 'guilty by association'?
I have to agree with Mikey in that Corbyn is damned both ways. If he had failed to sack him AB would be full of comments about how he failed to condemn a blatant case of sexism and abuse of women.
As to the event itself , I at first though that the women went into it knowing what to expect from an all male event and were paid well (£200 for a few hours waitressing) . But last night on TV it was stated that girls were handed a very skimpy and revealing outfit and ordered to wear it without being told beforehand what was involved.
( it also said that that they had to parade into the event to the tune Bang Bang)
That is IMO the worst part of it.
Eddie, where is the proof that Lord Mendelsohn was involved in what went on?
The pro Muslim terrorist Corby saw it as a handy vehicle to sack a Jewish front bencher..........Nice. In the meantime he permanently outraged Pixie Balls is making harridan like, face contorted with fury and hatred, statements about the event whilst her Strictly Come Dancing husband Ed Balls is cavorting with two of Trump's "Real Housewives" of Palm Beach sTrumpettes at his resort Mar-a-Largo in Florida.
Perhaps Mrs May should retaliate and sack Nadhim Zahawi.
I would have thought it might be the waiters who had to watch out, rather than the waitresses.
This debate appears to hinge on the perception that his Lordship was asked / ordered (the link changes it mind part-way through) to step down and he agreed - and that this was simply because he attended this event, and did nothing wrong, and their may be a sub-plot regarding his religion. That makes it a witch hunt, and is unjustified.

The link does say that his Lordship was 'probed by party officials' - which suggests that there may be more to this than first appears.

Jeremy Corbin is many things, but he is not stupid.

He can see the folly in simply sacking someone for being in the wrong place at the wrong time as well as I can.

The fact that Lord Mendelsohn agree to step down without complaint also adds to my argument that more may have gone on than has been revealed thus far.

If the noble Lord is innocent, why was he sacked, and if he was innocent, why has he not protested from the rooftops that his treatment is unfair?

It may be as it seems, that Corbyn is using a sledgehammer to crack a nut and to be seen to be 'doing the right thing' and it may be that his Lordship has agreed no to rock the proverbial vote.

But I think my point is valid - there may be more to this than we know - so far.
P.S. - For proverbial 'vote', please read 'boat' - my computer thinks it knows better than I what I am saying.
Eddie, //If he had failed to sack him AB would be full of comments about how he failed to condemn a blatant case of sexism and abuse of women. //

''Blatant'? As far as we're aware the man in question has done nothing wrong. He simply attended a charity event that has been held annually for over 30 years.
Yes Naomi....a charitable event where young women were meant to be as complaint and uncomplaining as possible, so that men could grope them without any scruples.
