Let's assume for the sake of the argument that Corbyn could produce the money for this fanciful idea and take into public ownership 8000 houses for the homeless - if I was one of the many 1000s of people/

How will they be financed? The same way as any new housing is financed. They will put up cash from reserves or borrow the money from banks to build them and get a return on that from the rental income. It will be a lot better return than keeping cash in the bank.

Haha Eddie @ 19.09....and all these "model" tenants clean, decorate, repair and maintain these properties just as diligently as owners? Err no... You will find that is not so.
Any equity gained in the property market is immediately re-invested for needy repairs(see above) or more housing stock.....don't think so..... it is invested in big wages and jollies for the council staff and large ones all round.... as well you know if you have been in H.A. rented property for 40 years.

There is something grossly insulting about the idea the State can covet and just take over an individual's personal property using whatever excuse they can think of. That is not the free western society we and our forefathers strove for.

If that really is the case then I would be the first one to want to hear how you overcame that. Seriously!
As regards getting a job, Theres nothing that I would like more. Ive been at my happiest when in work. Recent years have taken a different turn. I have developed an anxiety disorder, sometimes just getting out of my flat is a nightmare. I'm currently under the 'care' of mental health proffesionals. Don't know what the future holds.
