Alistair Stewart, one of their main news anchors used to present Police Camera Action, a series about the police catching drink drivers, and he was actually prosecuted for drink driving in 2003, which is a bit of an irony!
Even better, the programme he narrated advised viewers to tip off the police if they saw a drunk driver, and that was how he was caught.
He was nearly three times over the limit and got fined and banned - the court was not told that he had been previously prosecuted for the same offence in the 1980's.
Stewart was suspended from the programme, but has continued to work for ITV since.

It would have made no difference to sentencing if they had. Being at least 14 years old the offence was "spent" as far as the Rehabilitation of Offenders' Act is concerned. Whilst that in itself does not prevent a court from taking such a matter into account it would be extremely unusual for a court to allow such an ancient conviction to influence their sentence.
