“crashed his black Mini after losing control of his vehicle on a roundabout, ”

How exactly does one lose control of a vehicle if not speeding and not drunk?
>>>Still irresponsible, dangerous and downright stupid however you want to paint and sugar coat it.

Many people who go out drinking the night before are still over the legal limit the next day.

Almost all of them would not consider themselves "drunk" but may fail a breath test.
“He seems to have run into the front-offside of the Mini - the bit you would hit if you were on a roundabout and somebody pulled out in front of you when you have priority.”

Or the bit you might hit when this happens:

“The troubled television personality allegedly crashed his black Mini after losing control of his vehicle on a roundabout, which veered into the opposite side of the road and collided with a green Mini, which had a young girl and couple inside.”

Anyway, the accident is merely incidental to the allegation and only serves to aggravate it.

Loads of reasons - eating a sandwich, drinking a drink, looking at a map, adjusting the radio/CD player, controlling a child, talking to another person in the car, etc etc.
Why was he in custody for 10 hours? The usual procedure is that if you fail a roadside test you are arrested and taken to the station for two more tests, the lower reading being the one taken into account. Depending on the result you are either released without charge or charged and released on police bail. This should not take 10 hours.

Yes which is why it’s illegal and as mentioned earlier you could buy a breathalyser which are cheap and easily bought or better still refrain from driving as we all know that hungover= being phyyand mentally impaired which =you’re not fit to drive one ton of metal at any speeds as your vehicle is now a potential killing machine.

It’s really not rocket science.
“I'm not sure where you're at with knowledge on this matter. But it's been pointed out, that he was drunk.”

Jd At 13:23 Said...

“Being over the legal limit and being 'drunk' are two entirely different things.”

Hence my post.
You can make as many excuses as you want, he failed the breathalyser test.
Jack he was also taken to Hospital during those 10 hours, that may have prolonged things somewhat.

“I thought they , Ant & Dec were gay and a couple”

"Why was he in custody for 10 hours?"

Plod have the power to detain the suspect until they sober up, JD.
Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act, 1988 (Detention of persons affected by alcohol or a drug):

(1) Subject to subsections (2) and (3) below, a person required to provide a specimen of breath, blood or urine may afterwards be detained at a police station …if a constable has reasonable grounds for believing that, were that person then driving or attempting to drive a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road, he would commit an offence under section 4 of this Act.
Jack, it is usual to ask for a blood sample following a positive breathalyser test and get the result of that before deciding whether to charge or not.
“Ant and Dec have revealed that a lot of people are surprised when they discover that they aren't a gay couple. The presenting duo - who front I'm A Celebrity, Britain's Got Talent and Saturday Night Takeaway - said they have been called a "pair of poofs" before. They told The Sun: "We used to get called it an awful lot, usually by men of our own age. They’d go, 'Oi! You pair of poofs!'" Ant added: "Paul Burrell had a go at me once because I’d laughed in his face on I’m A Celeb. "I said, 'Paul I couldn’t help it. But that’s why you stayed in so long. My wife voted for you.' "And he went, 'Your wife? I always thought you were gay!'" The pair have been named Britain's favourite entertainment presenters at the National Television Awards for the last 13 years running. They return to ITV for a new series of Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend. ”
Vulcan - I wasn't making excuses. I was simply pointing out that being over the drink/drive limit doesn't automatically mean the accident was his fault. What it did do was enable the police to show that he was over the limit and open to be charged with the offence.

Which if that was the case then proves he was “steaming” and that maybe his mother knew.
