spath - // ... when he's obviously just a loving pet owner with a sick sense of humour. Is that something to arrest someone for? The efforts and finances just are not worth it. //
Once again, he has not been arrested for being a loving pet owner with a sick sense of humour, he has been arrested because it has been concluded that he has broken the law.

If Netanyahu had his way then this gentleman would be serving a lengthy sentence in a hellhole prison and have his home demolished.
My guess is that with heavy Israeli influence here that he may just be looking a custodial sentence by our judicial system as an example to foster Semitic views and quell any anti Semitic views.

I'm not sure where this 'heavy Israeli influence here ...' comes from, but I am sure he will be sentenced in line with the guidelines for the offence he has committed, which doesn't, as far as I am aware, have a separate section for anti-Semitic crimes.

Jahulaye - // “Jahulaye, I think he made it quite clear at the beginning that his views are not anti-Semitic.“
But then goes on to insult all Jews...
But his “clause” at the beginning means he’s not so the Jews shouldn’t be offended and it’s their problem not his.
I see. //
This does bring us into the age-old, and often debated on here, argument about offence being meant, or not, and being taken, or not.
My view is that you cannot employ a get-out-of-jail-free card by prefacing anything with "This is not supposed to be offensive ..." - the inference being, if you are offended, you have no sense of humour, and so on and so on.
Offence is a reaction, it is not governed by the intention of the originator of the comment / joke / YouTube film, etc.
In an ideal world, you would not cause a reaction you didn't intend - but life is not lijke that.
