No.
Was he sentenced today?
Question Author
Yes, convicted ... sentencing deferred until April.
No, he's an idiot not a racist.
No.

I recall when seeing it the first time round I thought if it was purely to wind up his Girlfriend then why publicise it.

Idiot of the first water.
Question Author
Thanks for that FF.
I;m going guess posters won't bother with the vid no and just read the BBC's slant on it.
More likely to be a fine.

Once the video made it into the public domain he was always going to be in trouble. In private contexts, I don't see that jokes should have any limit on how far, and how dark, they can go (as long as everyone party to the "joke" is OK with this). In public, you have to be more careful.
It wasn't funny, it was childish and tasteless. He should not be sent to jail.
You guessed wrong with me - I watched the video and have not opened the BBC link yet.
I watched the video and I assumed Spicerack had. I added the BBC link to answer Spicerack's question about the sentence
Oh ! I thought he was gonna video himself putting the dog in the microwave

No I dont think prison is suitable
i dont think the dog understands German
Yes for a short time, just to give the dog and girlfriend some peace from his stupidly .

//He also said he believed Meechan, who was supported at court by far-right activist Tommy Robinson,//

What's that about?

//He claimed Jewish comedian David Baddiel had voiced his support for Meechan and had asked for him to walk free.//

Wasn't difficult to see if David Baddiel was in support or angered.

BBC spinning? I'm shocked.
I can't see much BBC spin, apart from the insidious bias of reporting what the judge in the case said ...
It's not a matter of 'Lefty Rubbish' at all.

It is a matter of stratospheric stupidity though.

This is one of the problems with mass communication.

If you make a little film for your own amusement, or to annoy your girlfriend, then that's one thing.

If you put it into an environment where it gets watched potentially by hundreds of millions of people, the law of averages says that someone (and it only takes one) is going to be offended and moved to action.

The crime is not to make the film, tbe crime is to post it out to the world and offend people who have a legitiamte reason to be offended and upset.

Lack of perception, Jim.
Well, I'll be grateful for your insight as to what provokes the accusations of bias in this case.
The idea that David Badiel is not offended, therefore it's not offensive is utterly ludicrous. That infers that if a Jewish man thinks it's funny, then it's not offensive to anyone, which is clearly nonsense.

Except, that's not where David Badiel is coming from on this.
He is speaking as a comedian, and his point is that the man in the video advised what he was doing and why he was doing it - it is nothing to do with race hate at all.

I would be far more upset if he is actually supported by 'Tommy Robinson' - who understands less than nothing about behaving properly.
I find it more offensive that you keep using "infer" when you mean "imply", andy :P
