Don't know whether this news has gone countrywide, but dahn sarf over the weekend five people (15 to 16 year olds) were killed whilst racing along in a stolen car (they all knew it was stolen and were there voluntarilly). Now call me harsh, but I really couldn't possibly care any less if I tried - I feel sorry for the families, but couldn't give tinker's cuss about the people who died, as they died in the furtherance of a crime.

So, the question is, am I a heartless uncaring bar steward? I suspect I probably am, but I genuinely can't conjure up any sympathy at all.

ding dongy my heart is with you. I am sure they will also favour the purchasing of Mayfair Lights, cider and cheap oven chips above anything remotely healthy or nutrious for the kids.

Further a wide screen TV will no doubt be billed to the tax payer along with copious amounts of Elizabeth Duke gold jewellry and dog food for the obvious staffordshire terrier they have.

It's your thread dongy fire away.

reasoned argument!!!! Ding-Dong youre arguing in favour of dead children - what would be the point of trying to persuade you of anything, it'd probably make you sick to your stomach.

Question Author
I'll argue this point until I'm blue in the face - if you get hurt whilst committing a crime, you have got nobody to blame but yourself. The difference is, I'll argue the point without reverting to abusiveness.

Ding-Dong - Ok, so if a 15 year old gets stabbed to death whilst watching an 18 certificate film, have they no-one to blame except themselves!?!

What about if a 17 year old goes to the pub a week before his 18th and gets shot - again, no-one to blame but himself?

Finally, what about if a family's house gets firebombed while they are watching TV without paying for a licence?

Question Author

I'm not going to dignify that with an answer - very clever point granted, but people know where I'm coming from.

Well you did dignify it with an answer - so thank you.

All I'm trying to say is that if you're going to make a point, then don't weaken your own arguments with sweeping generalisations. We all know that you know how to make your point loud and clear. You call me arrogant for trying to be careful about how you pick your words, but other people would pick up on the comment you made that "anyone killed in the course of committing a crime deserved it" as a gross platitude. I don't like you in the slightest, but I at least recognise that you're intelligent and that you think about your arguments well. If you'd thought about your words then, more people might have agreed with you.

No doubt you'll view that as patronising, but whilst I know I'm stating the bleeding obvious, it does seem like you momentarily forgot that bleeding obvious, just a few minutes ago.

I meant "You call me arrogant for trying to be carful about how I pick MY words" not how you pick yours. Ironic typing error - I apologise for that.

Blimey - I really have touched a nerve with the whole arrogant thing haven't I: Is it because this accusation has been levelled at you before I wonder!

Ding-Dong BSC (Hons), ACIB, MBA (True, but not necessarily proud - simply a means to an end). In fact, I'd go as far as to say my Master Scuba qualification is more of a personal achievment.

Oh what a cunumdrum I find myself in. On the one hand we have dingy dongy to whom I agree with wholeheartedly. On the other hand we have JB, whom without a shadow of doubt, is the sexiest creature to grace AB. Where do my allegions lie!!!!!!

Capt. Wardy BA(Joint Hons) LLB (Con) QGoFL and a CSE in woodwork. Aren't we a clever lot!

Gawd, now according to ding dong moral universe you're considered an underclass if you frequent weatherspoons and get '****** up'... Next you'll be advocating that if a corrugated lorry crashed into weatherspoons killing all these kids...it would be some sort of justice, hold on.. thinking about it and reading most of your previous posts, thats sounds exactly something you'd say ...what a nice person you sound, if these views are common place in east sussex, and i'm sure it ain't..somebody remind me to avoid the place like the plague.

surfer mike love, chill out bro.

Question Author
No no no no no - you've misunderstood: if you frequent Wetherspoons and get ****** up, that's fine - however, if you frequest Wetherspoons, get ****** up and cause a load of trouble because you are a scummy little chav (which is what happens in Tunbridge Wells - trust me, it does - all the trouble in TW town centre on a Saturday is chav led - I know the Guardianistas won't like a generalisation like that, but it is a fact), then you are part of the horrible underclass.
Question Author
Man alive I'm enjoying this - come on undercovers, I feel the need to be called scum again.
so ding dong does that mean u take back your statement that everyone that wears a hoodie and gets drunk on cheap beer in wetherspoons has their night out paid for them by the taxpayer?

fideldyfee - I sadly predict that hell will freeze over before ding-dong stops making sweeping generalisations and apologises for or even corrects past ones. After all, he seems to do it without even noticing.

Question Author

fideldyfee - I'd love to, but I didn't say anything about the tax payer paying for their night out, that was Ward-Minter.

Am suprised our scholarly legal beagle didn't spot that.

Subtle way to call me a bitch ding-dong, but don't bother mincing your words with me.
Ding-dong - what about your generalisations about Guardianistas - will you apologise for that, or take it back!?!
Question Author

j-b, I most certainly didn't mean that - I don't know you, why on earth would I call you a bitch, it was just rhyming - nothing more.

I used the Guardianistas generalisation because somebody earlier in this thread had used a generalisation that anybody who happens to be right of centre reads the Daily Mail.
