Asda is grim! Cheap and nasty as opposed to cheap and (mainly) excellent at Aldi and Lidl.

^^And i feel that about Aldi and Lidl.
surely not, ummmm.....

I have never used Aldi or Lidl, mainly because there wasn't one local to me, yet I have heard many on here sing their praises. The late Mikey4444 always bought his booze at Lidl.
Aldi and Lidl sell cheaply because, in the main, what they’re offering is sub-standard. Even their cleaning products don’t compare to the branded on sale at the usual supermarkets. You get what you pay for. Buy cheap, get cheap.
As I say I have no experience of either so am confused as to why some consider them to be the bee's knees yet others criticise them.
Jackdaw, I can only guess that the people who applaud them are happy to buy inferior goods.
I've bought meat from them and it was awful.
Fruit and veg too, ummmm. Unless it's used immediately it goes off and is unusable - and it's not good quality anyway.
They have some nice cereals.
The nearest large Asda to me is just across the road from an equally large Sainsburys. I can't see them both continuing. There are going to be a lot of jobs lost.
People will shop where they can afford to shop.
I tried their cornflakes. No thanks. I'm amazed that they get away with the packaging rip-offs. Cereals that look like Kellogg's, chocolate that looks like Cadbury's, sage and onion stuffing that looks like Paxo, instant coffee that looks like Nescafe etc., etc.
Well, I can't say I've noticed such problems is all.
Most supermarkets do that, Naomi.
Their chocolate cannot be like the real Cadbury's which has gone from being the best in the land to absolutely vile. I wouldn't touch the stuff.
I only ever do food shopping online. I hate walking around supermarkets and alternate between different shops. They are all much the same, sometimes one product is slightly better than another. I've never used Aldi or Lidl. It will be Amazon taking over, I agree. I buy non-perishable things from them. Free next-day delivery, no struggling with heavy and bulky things and mostly cheaper than supermarkets for the same brands.
ummmm, I can't say I've noticed that really. Own brands are usually quite evident.

Jackdaw, I agree about Cadbury's chocolate. Horrible now, likewise Maynard's sweets.
