I think it's laughable too, TTT. When they're in that pose, it looks like they're thinking 'I've got to stand like this to look powerful.' While clenching their gluteus. Any real powerful people don't bother. They just stand.

If I see a man come no to sit next to me on a train or in a theatre I firmly plant my feet at the extremities of MY SPACE. It can lead to lots of uncomfortable leg-touching but it has to be done.
I can't believe they're still doing this ridiculous thing.

If they think they look anything other than ludicrous they're horribly mistaken. Politicians really really really do need to stop listening to image consultants. Remember the awful gurning that occurred when Gordon Brown was told he needed to smile more?
