Italy is refusing to allow a boat with over 600 migrants to dock at it's ports. https://news.sky.com/story/italy-shuts-ports-to-rescue-ship-carrying-over-600-migrants-11401125. Good on Italy. I bet you ask those migrants where they're aiming for, I bet they say England!!

It just seems a bit pathetic for comfortable people sitting at their keyboards gleefully wishing for 600 people to drown (like thousands of others do) because "nobody wants them."

I don't know what the solution to the refugee crisis is. It's an extremely complicated issue because it is so often a question of life or death. I'm not sure the right thing to do is jeer and wish death on people who have had their lives destroyed through no fault of their own.

They weren’t coming en mass to Europe 20 years ago, but all it took was just a few who had the bright idea to do so, and the floodgates were opened.

Yes Spicerack I was posting from my Orangerie, I live a very fortunate life ( as do we all in the UK), but I pay 50% tax as well in order to live it, so forgive me ( or not I don't give a *** tbh what you think of me) if I have an opinion on what some of those taxes are spent on. I don't want to live in a country that is socially and morally regressing with people who hold some sort of jubilant street party at others misfortunes, you thoroughly disgust me. Some of you should seriously be utterly ashamed of yourselves. Would I house a migrant family? Hell yes I would. do I do anything practical both financially and physically to assist those less fortunate than me, yes I do because that's what civilised people do.
