City hall have given the green light to a crowdfunded blimp depicting an angry Donald Trump throwing a temper tantrum in a nappy, meaning it will be flying over Parliament Square on the day of his visit.
Do you think this is a valid piece of satire or do you think this should have been disallowed so as not to annoy the President?
We are constantly told we can't do this and we can't do that, as it may offend certain groups, well as proven on here this Baby Trump blimp offends many not only on here but outside in the real world.
Pathetic. Great way to diss the USA. We're going to need them after Brexit. Like or loathe Trump this is no way to treat an American president. Purile and counter-productive.
The OP's link says that the GLA reversed their decision after a petition gathered over 10,000 signatures. So, AOG, if you want to stop it, why not begin a petition to do so and hope you gather 11,000 signatures from those 'outside in the real world'.
It's a cheap publicity stunt, that's all. If something like that truly puts US-UK relations at the kind of risk people seem to fear, though... what does that say about the current crop of national leaders? It should have no impact whatsoever.
It is supposed to be part of a peaceful protest and Khan has given permission for it to be flown for two hours on the morning of Trumps visit. Just hope that Trump sleeps in late that day. It's a stupid demoralizing stunt.
