What's next ? . A divisive and bitter Tory leadership election , followed by a general election with a win for Corbyn.
No chance of a General Election.
"As long as it is someone who has the guts to stand up to the EU and deliver a Brexit in line with what the public voted for."

The only opportunity the public have had to define the type of Brexit they voted for was in 2017 -- and then they rejected Theresa May's plans by refusing a mandate for the Brexit she was offering.

It's almost as if that GE never happened in some people's minds...
A divisive and bitter Tory leadership election, where a party leader who believes in democracy and delivering the decision already made by the public is hopefully installed, followed by a period of settling in and confirming a working relationship with the DUP: whilst pointing out to anti democracy Tory MP rebels that any rocking of the boat would possibly mean that they're out, as might be their party given the hash it's been making of negotiations so far. People may vote for change not realising that alternative would be a worse mess.

I agree with no chance of a general election. With the DUP onside any new leader will have a working majority. In any event, to have a GE before the new constituency boundaries are drawn would be the height of folly. This was one of May's mistakes last year.
...and then they rejected Theresa May's attitude of, "I don't need to give consideration to you lot, I do what I want, and here's a msnifesto which hits pensioners ...."

FTFY
MANIFESTO
AS TYPED !!!?!
That's cool and all OG but there wasn't really any measurable loss of support for the Tories among pensioners, so I'm not sure that's a credible explanation for the failure of the Tories to win a majority in 2017.
Her attitude was though. Not turning up at invites, hardly any campaigning. Deciding it was in the bag so could treat folk with disdain.
Davis painted himself into a corner. Last week I wrote on here...

// If Davis has written saying he opposes the third way option, how can he possibly remain in the job, if it gets approval from ministers? //

He couldn’t stay. The letter was a political suicide note.

All for the best, he really was an incredibly bad negotiator.
Yes, that didn't help for sure. She was stupid to call the election, and we've paid for it dearly.
Danny - funny kinda Roman Catholic

"Eden remains the only British Prime Minister to have been divorced (although he was one of nine to have been married twice[49]). There was criticism of the marriage in the Church Times—"Mr. Eden's action this week shows how far the climate of public opinion in this matter has changed for the worse"[50]—and from some others in the Anglican church, including the Archbishop of Sydney, "

the wife Clarissa - was - and was excoriated by Evelyn Waugh who was a RC convert with two wives living....

worth a read
Eden himself was Down House, Eton, 'Pop', Army, Oxford, govt which is kinda funny life trajectory for a Roman Catholic
( Prep, Stoneyhurst, Jesuit, ordination, svengali to his Holiness)
PP, Thanks for that.I just have a memory of the time it was suggested that he might become Prime Minister and some talk at the time that he wouldn't because he was a RC.Obviously my memory was playing tricks.(old age you know)
A couple of AB posts from just before the last election.

// Latest prediction from your favourite source is a Tory majority of 116. //

// Would be funnier still if she called an election having had a majority, on the grounds that she wanted a "strong and stable" government (that she already had, surely?) and ends up losing that majority altogether. Anything less than 320 seats and I'll enjoy laughing at her for years to come. //

It's the wrong resignation.#

Treason May has to go. Useless Home secrretary, useless PM and by all account useless councillor when she started out. How on earth did she get where she is.

Questions need to be asked about how her husbands company fares with Brexit and how it may be influencing. I am suspicious.

If May pushes this through I predict the Tories will be in the wilderness for at least a generation, possibly finish them off just like the libs.

MP's now need to show their colours, woe betie any that do not come up to scratch in a leave constituency!
Gulliver, you do realise JC is a leaver - he and is boys need to be as without leaving they cannot Nationalise which is the core of their ideology. Get with it.
It's a pity that William Hague isn't still available, he would be ideal as a temporary scapegoat for the Tories.
Not that it overly matters, Gromit, but what's the point of your two quotes?

I agree with Sqad. Hague was before his time and took his ball home when he lost the 2001 election, which even the Archangel Gabriel could not have won for the Tories. As has been said of others, 'The best prime minister we never had'.
Best of the rest. Rees-Mogg for PM, Boris for Brexit Secretary.
