sp, //who all disagree about everything//

But they don't - see my post at 12:11.
//The quest for diversity, the furore over Trump, the penchant for defending Islam – object to any of those things at your peril.//

You make it sound like those on the political right sit quietly, saying nothing when they are disagreed with.

Like Briebart and Fox News are silent and never attack
As a reader of Hitler's favourite English paper AOG you will know all about double standards so I would not be so bold as to try to answer your question.
No naomi24

You’re trying to make out that those on the right don’t have a voice. Everyone has a voice, and every has the means and opportunity to holler.

This is what Melanie Phillips has been doing for years.

And Steve Bannon

And Caitlin Flanagan

And what about Infowars!!!!

And One Million Moms?
You are comparing a permanent street decoration with a temporary protest. They are not similar at all. I'm pretty sure that the cafe would also have been told to remove the "art" if it had featured the Trump.
sp, The point is that society, in general, condemns all those things.
sp, //No naomi24. You’re trying to make out that those on the right don’t have a voice. //

No, sp. You're making it up.... again. I haven't mentioned the right.
Anyone who thinks that the political Right do not have the means and opportunity to make their case is mistaken.

The world’s most popular newspaper site is the Daily Mail.

In America Fox News Live is the highest rated news show.

Breitbart is the 64th most popular site in the whole of the US.

This means that we have an environment (worldwide) where both liberal and conservative voices can and are heard.
sp, //Anyone who thinks that the political Right do not have the means and opportunity to make their case is mistaken. //

No one has suggested that. Wind your neck in.

//The point is that society, in general, condemns all those things//

What things?

And the reason I mention the right is because it’s the right who tend to get the most upset about the quest for diversity etc...

naomi24

Exactly what point are you trying to make?

You refer to society having double standards.

Isn’t that obvious? Society is made up of millions of people. Or on a macro level - thousands...isn’t it natural that double ‘ triple ‘ quadruple standards will exist within society?
sp, //What things? //

The things you posted about around 15 minutes ago. Are we about to start to go around the houses again? Let me know and I'll make a cup of tea.
sp, //And the reason I mention the right is because it’s the right who tend to get the most upset about the quest for diversity etc... //

And the quest for diversity is de rigueur because society as a whole champions it.
Clear double standards from where I am standing.
naomi24

Let’s leave those aside, because you’ve brought up something genuinely interesting that I want to understand. You wrote:

//...society has expectations and it makes demands. The quest for diversity, the furore over Trump, the penchant for defending Islam – object to any of those things at your peril.//

What does that have to do with societal double standards?

That second half of that statement looks like a non-sequitur.
"And the quest for diversity is de rigueur because society as a whole champions it. "

But does it? I would argue society as a whole couldn't give monkeys. It is the minority right-on liberal elite who have infiltrated important parts of our society such as Police, Judiciary and the media who champion it.
naomi24

//And the quest for diversity is de rigueur because society as a whole champions it.//

And now you’re qualifying society ‘as a whole’.

But that’s not quite right, because there is a rich vein of disagreement about the benefits of diversity and there are plenty of commentators (again, on the right politically) who VERY are vocal about it.
youngmafbog

And surely there’s an opposite number who are against diversity, whether it be multiculturalism or any other form?

Would you say that’s true?
But I would agree with you. I don’t think naomi24 has got it right about society being in favour of diversity ‘on the whole’ or not.
sp 12:46, yes I would agree but equally a small number.

The vast majority who are not impacted in any shape or form really dont care and just want to get on with their lives.
