Never mind the supposed shortages we have been told may happen if we come out of Europe, if we can prevent this happening to our country it will be well worth it.

No problem, aog.
quotas are inevitable, end of.
Oh look, desperate women and children.. its not as if they have nowhere else to go.

More speculation.

Oh, and AOG......the case of quotas you cite relating to Slovakia and Hungary were challenged legally and never implemented.

Can anyone tell me the mechanisms by which we’ll be able to prevent situations like that in Spain from happening?
Question Author
You seem to have lost your argument, Zacs-Master
Ican't see why he has lost theargument AOG. Please can you clarify? I'm always wanting to learn. thanks.
According to some of the immigrants being interviewed in Spain ,there are thousands more on their way, to use Spain ,as a stepping stone to England before Brexit happens. Spain has nothing to offer them so they say. This lot are just the Advance Party
The biggest advantage of Brexit re Third World immigration was explained in an earlier post by TTT and was about legal, rather than illegal immigration: Third World immigrants granted EU citizenship have the automatic right to move to the UK while we are in the EU and will lose that right if we ever get round to leaving (I mean leaving) it.
There's one sure way to stop it, the only difficulty is convincing legitimate tourists that the temporary noise, smoke and smell of hot metal is worth it in the long run.
Coming to a house near you.
If there are thousands more and the EU countries are daft enough to let them travel through, then France'll have a torrid time of it. As would any ferry or train operators daft enough to bring them here. The channel is surely observed well given the amount ot traffic flowing through it; how many trying to cross would get through unharmed and unspotted ?
I seem to have lost the argument, do I? What, by
1) pointing out that you’ve contradicted yourself
2) asked you to point out precisely why things will be different after Brexit, which you’ve failed to do.
3) pointed out that your predictions of EU wide quotas is pure speculation
4) pointed out that the quotas imposed on 2 countries were legally challenged and never implemented

Oh, right.
The population of Africa was less than that of Europe just a hundred years ago, overtook it only a few decades agao and is now more than double it. Projected - on current trends - to rise to ten billion by the end of century. The reasons are obviouse enough: the "natural" checks on population growth - high infant mortality, disease, and drought - have to a great extent been eliminated through Western medicine and Aid programs. The Guardian on this issue:

https://www.theguardian.com/global-development-professionals-network/2016/jan/11/population-growth-in-africa-grasping-the-scale-of-the-challenge

As Africa can't support itself now, what will the situation be like in twenty years? Already millions of Africans have arrived in Europe to enjoy the benefits of Western largesse rather than stay in Africa where the overheads in middle-man costs of Western aid are very high. How many more will try to come? Not a question the Guardian article asks, but one worth thinking about I suggest.
Fertility declines ? I'd doubt if fertility has changed greatly anywhere for centuries. The issue is more about having the sense and willpower not to 'exercise' your fertility so much that it causes country and even world problems. An average of 2.5 kids is still too many; more is plainly irresponsible (whether you think your family can afford it financially, or not).
// Because the EU will have to face up to this problem, and they will demand that all members must take in their share of these migrants.//

and since we wont be members we can watch from our shores ....

anyway it may be a Trump demand - there one day and then still there the next day but with 'nart' attached to clarify
// Projected - on current trends - to rise to ten billion by the end of century.//

yeah but no but - what happened in the past may NOT be a guide to the future - see stock market - or trump
no one cd have predicted hiim ....

false invalid logic masquerading as brown peril ....
Yes, do you remember the aids epidemic predictions of the mid 80s?
Dear, dear, dear. "False logic". Non secutor up the retiarius.

" on current trends " is a qualifier. Geddit, foo dat der fen?

Honest critics of my post will agree there is no arguing the doubling of Africa's population to 1.2 billion in less than forty years and the implications of that growth on Africa itself and its rich neighbours.
Meanwhile, while we are sitting here on a pleasant Saturday afternoon discussing the situation lobbing back and forth terms such as Brexit, quotas, Schengen Agreement, EU citizenship, geography and distance, etc, etc, they are busy preparing more and more boat-loads of healthy young men whose sole intent is to invade us. Place more and faster patrol boats in the area; intercept them; tow them back; destroy their boats; and repeat this action over and over again.
