The Chequers plan is rubbish, I have yet to hear anyone of any political persuasion think it is a good or even workable proposal, and yet the media is spinning it as if we should all be on tenterhooks to see if our dear leader can pull it off against EU adversity.
What is needed is either a completely different plan (enter Boris?) or no deal at all.

We need no deal at all. Any deal to which the EU agrees will be to their advantage, not to ours and not to our mutual advantage. They have dictated the format and content of the talks since their beginning and we have behaved like timid supplicants throughout. Almost every time proposal the UK has made has been rejected; we have made one concession after another. The Prime Minister is now treating Brexit as a damage limitation exercise and is trying to make leaving seem as much like remaining as possible.

The whole country - both Leavers and Remainers - are being badly let down. The Chequers plan will leave the country unable to take full advantages of the undoubted benefits that will come with Brexit whilst continuing to suffer the many and various disadvantages that our "associate membership" will continue to burden us with.

A " deal" means us imposing tariffs on the rest of the world. I think.
WTO rules would free us of that.

One can not say what a hypothetical deal would entail. One that did not cross our red lines would be fine. I'm not holding my breath that the EU are that reasonable though.

Certainly this "Chequers" nonsense needs kicking to the sideline. If the EU accepted it we'd be in the embarrassing position of needing to reject our own offer.

May needs replacing before she agrees to a deal that involves us still being in the EU in all but name. We know she thinks a rotten deal is better than no deal, (or even a decent deal possibly).

They want to collect their own tax. Well good. Doesn't necessarily kill the plan though, they'd just need to modify it so that the goods' journey from supplier to EU is known. Sadly it could mean zombie Chequers could still stagger on.
