I would hope that Independent article is tongue in cheek, because it’s largely nonsense. Boris Johnson would need to be at least semi popular with MPs to have a chance of getting to the final voting round, and he isn’t. Also, he tried once before and was shafted by Gove, who realised he was hopeless, something Johnson himself had also realised anyway.
This obsession with BJ is rather pathetic : it surely shows how thin the level of talent is in the ground that his name keeps coming to the fore. Just because he can tell a few good jokes. His talents are many but unlikely to include being a good politician.
