Diversity Training For Boris?
I’m not sure if laughing is aloud – but I did – heartily.
On a more serious note, Lord Tebbit, a former Tory chairman, accused party chiefs of inflaming the row and allowing Jeremy Corbyn to escape scrutiny over allegations of anti-Semitism.

Furthermore, Rowan Atkinson has written the following to The Times:
‘As a lifelong beneficiary of the freedom to make jokes about religion, I do think that Boris Johnson’s joke about wearers of the burka resembling letterboxes is a pretty good one. All jokes about religion cause offence, so it’s pointless apologising for them. ‘You should really only apologise for a bad joke. On that basis, no apology is required.’

Well done Rowan Atkinson. It seems to me that the tide is turning at last, hope so.

Rockrose, //You are being very silly Naomi! //
That’s a cop out and it’s not working. You’re ducking the question. Should they be given diversity training? Yes or no?
//Actually Talbot darling it was Naomi who said they were afraid. //
No I didn’t. I said some children are alarmed at the sight of people in a burka – and they are.
fiction-factory, your opinion of me is irrelevant. I know what I know and you’re welcome to cross-reference my posts.

"You can't tell a difference between a burka and a niqab!"
Neither can I. It's not too high on my list of "need to know" items.
I also cannot explain the difference between Sunni and Shi'ite Muslims (I only know that they cannot stand each other), I don't know why Jewish men wear skull caps (or what the correct name for one is), I don't know why Easter is a movable feast and I don't know why there has never been a female Pope (perhaps all the world's 1.2bn Catholics should have some "diversity" training).
I would suggest none of this ignorance is a measure of my intelligence. It's simply that I have no interest whatsoever in any religion or their habits and manifestations. As a result, I don't want to know why some women feel the need to roam around wearing a garment that just provides a slot for their eyes (though I understand it is to prevent me being overcome with lust should I see any of their bare skin). No amount of "diversity training" will encourage me to take an interest in such nonsense, nor will it dissuade me from referring to it as such. What I'd really like is for the women concerned to receive some training themselves. I'd like them to be taught that many people find their appearance ridiculous (whether they like it or not) and some find it offensive. I'd like them also to understand that religions (of all denominations) are highly likely to be ridiculed here in the UK and followers just have to put up with it.

It not unknown for some children to be scared of Santa, so why is unreasonable to assume that they would be equally scared of persons dressing up in burkas?
