That is why people like this can take life with impunity. I suppose we will get the cobblers now about it costs more to execute a man than it does to house and feed an obviously guilty man for 26years. :-( //
I have said many many times on this site, that logic dictates that no-one kills another person with the notion of potential punishment at the forefront of their mind at the time.
If they did consider the consequences, then they would not commit the crime.
But simple human nature intervenes - in the case of a murder, which people excluding psychopaths tend to do just once, it is usually a crime of instant reaction, and if it is planned, then the notion of being caught is not factored in at all.
Yes, as a society, we elect to confine our murderers in prison, and yes it does cost the tax payer money, but personally, I don't weight the value of a life in economic terms, and the notion of murdering a murderer to save money is morally repugnant.
