Shame. I’d like to think that it was succumbing to peer pressure in order to ‘fit in’, but then that would be a poor reflection on the other Guardsmen who are drug-free.
Just a reflection on modern society I guess.

Retro, I don't think this will result in a court martial, which would be necessary for a prison sentence being imposed.

In my experience it was usually 28 days and out, which meant 4 weeks in Regimental jail then discharged.
Sentencing guidelines may differ greatly today though!

Ditto danny, it was a rare occurrence in mine too, especially in West Germany, it wasn’t so ‘recreational’ for soldiers whilst based in BAOR as opposed to UK.

Modern society makes it far more accessible, regardless of where one is based.

It's always disappointing when Military personnel fail tests such as these, 1,000 in the last year is a dreadful number.

The waste of the cost of training and the disgrace they bring to both their force and families is awful.
