that's how the headline reads - but it's not how it was reported on TV last night, nor indeed is it said in the text of the article. The police are investigating not the refusal, but threats made after the event. and the driver wasn't dismissed for refusing to transport poppies, but for falsifying his job card.

all very strange, eh?

ANOTHEOLDGIT that bit you posted covers "beliefs" and "other" in effect, anything and everything.
//No *we* don't know that, at all. // @12.09

//Yes, AOG.....We know what you have inferred from that.// @13.06

Haha we we?
Yes, *we*..........Those of us who haven't made bigotted assumptions.

I hope that has clarified things for you.
Sorry if I've missed the point exactly why did the driver refuse to take the boxes of poppies has the driver said why?

//I hope that has clarified things for you.//

Of course it does. It shows that you consider your bigoted opinions to be superior to any one else's.
//Pacifist? //

The sort of pacifist who makes threats to the taxi firm resulting in police involvement?
Surely the 'threats' have come from those incensed by the actions of this (not-yet-proven-to-be-a-muslim) taxi driver and the taxi-company who employed him?

And *we* know what sort of people those are likely to be, don't we? LoL
The TWOB?

The Wrong Often Brigade?
There's a few folk on here I'd hate to see on a jury...
so would i, some of those lefty leaning liberals, like a number of those people who kicked up a rumpus and let the man off the plane, the rapist who was being deported home.
he is still here by the way and costing the taxpayer thousands.
Lefty leaning liberals :-)
If the reports are read with any comprehension, the "threats" appear to have been made prior to the press getting a sniff of it and before plod became involved. Still..... mustn't let reality confuse you.
Do you really believe that 'nobody' knew about this until it appeared in the press?

And plod only became involved because of the threats received.....and that is the point at which the press became involved, too.
When the threats were made the only people aware of the issue were the driver, the taxi firm and The British Legion. I suppose it could have been the British Legion . Haha.
There's only one T in bigoted. Thought you'd know that, jack. x
I do, spicerack, this keyboard has a mind of its' own though.

Excellent contribution to the thread by the way. x

by that time, the matter was already racing around the twittersphere. as part of that, UPHD (United Private Hire Drivers, a sort of self-proclaimed union for minicabs) had this to say:-

"In KMR Cars' race to signal their virtue to the British Legion they trampled over the rights of a driver and in doing so dishonoured the legacy of liberty so many veterans died for. Another reason why every minicab driver should be in a union."
Have you got a time for the UHDU " proclamation or indeed a link Mushroom. It is, I take it a copy and paste, so must have a little more detail in there.
