"About 80% ish of all knife murders are black on black."
This link shows that is wrong

"These figures focus on homicides, or killings, a category comprising cases of murder, manslaughter and infanticide. In about two out of every five killings, the victim was fatally assaulted with a sharp object or stabbed to death.
The number of knife-related homicides went from 272 in 2007 to 186 in 2015. Since then it's risen every year, with a steep increase in 2017-18, when there were 285 killings, the highest figure since 1946.
One in four victims were men aged 18-24.
The figures also show 25% of victims were black - the highest proportion since data was first collected in 1997."

Some government statistics here, spath, if that helps.

Personally, I am sure the biggest risk factor by far is being male rather than being black. Do black women stab a lot more people than white men? I can't find those stats anywhere.

These murders occurred between the year December 2017 to December 2018 in London. Scroll down the photographs availabe of the victims. I would estimate 80% is a fair assessment of how many vicims are black.
Those listed without photographs predominently are not Anglo Saxon type names.
The front page of the Daily Mail showed, just after Jodie Chesny's murder, photographs of the murder victims so far this year.
I have tried to find it on the web. Again,I would estimate, most victims were 80% black. Unless you wish to question the veracity of the source.

"you cant commit murder by perjury - R v McHugh 1748"
Which reinforces my belief that judicial killing is wrong. None of the people I mentioned were guilty, but all would have likely been executed if we still had capital punishment. There are checks and balances to prevent the powerful being held to account, but not for the private citizen.
Capital punishment allows the innocent to be executed. If the death of guilty people deters a few from committing murder, does the death of innocent people have the same effect, or does it separate the concept of guilt from that of punishment? If the latter, the death sentence ceases to be a deterrent. Innocence is no protection.
Much like stop and search, in fact. Stopping innocent people breeds a mistrust of officers, who can no longer police by consent.

If the powers that be get the right messages across about knife crime and the need to conduct them where appropriate then there should be a greater level of understanding instead of claiming harassment or being victimised.
There needs to be compromise.Nobody wants to be inconvenienced but that shouldn't mean that anyone stopped has been randomly picked out.
Attitudes of 'us v them' need to change. The police are not the enemy. They have a job to uphold the law and if that means stop and search they have to be trusted to do it without unwarranted recriminations.

if the police know who the gang kingpins are all over london say
they could go in with armed hits squads arrest the lot of them in one fell swoop..the take them to an old quarry and machine gun the lot of them in round.. and repeat till would be offenders get the message.
im sure it would work, i have no doubt.

I would agree with that 100%, and would go further by saying neither are young people, whatever their skin colour.
I am not sure, though, that explaining the need to stop innocent people to stop them being stabbed will carry much weight. If the police searched my home every night to remind me about the risk of burglary, or stopped me driving within the limit to advise me what happens when others don't, I would soon get irritated by it.

RETRO your claim was that 80% of all knife murders (not only London) were black on black. My link used figures from the Home Office and are for England and Wales.
I have no intention of going through photographs or guessing the ethnicities of victims/murderers based solely on their names. I prefer to rely upon official statistics.

Agreed also and I'm sure that the police agree too.
I'm certainly not advocating stop and search as being the answer to all the prayers but it remains a tool which, although is very unpopular in some circles, it could save a life of someone who has complained about its use.

Fair enough. Your perogative but as they say, statistics are like a lamp post and can be used as a support by a drunk but are not illuminating.
Statistics can be and also are massaged especially by the H.O.
If you scroll down your link you will see a 6 minute BBC TV report which will tell you who exactly is responsible for London's stabbing.
In fact an elderly black woman is stabbed/slashed in a wheelchair in front of the interveiwer/ interviewee in a London park in front of them.

And I apologise that, on reading my comment again, it looks as if I was having a dig at you when that wasn't my intention. Somebody else has posted a few times now that the innocent have no reason to disagree with stop and search. That was the thought I wanted to counter, not yours.

Chuck him in prison. Throw away the key. Solitary confinement. Let the other prisoners deal with them. Bread and water for the rest of their days. These are forms of torture and if you go along with these what does it say about you.
At least Capital punishment would free up a lot of space that we desperately need in today's prisons.
