I’ve spoken to so many voters, both Labour and Conservative, who say that such is their disgust at the blatant disregard for the electorate and for the democratic process that they see no point in ever voting again.

OK then let's be pedantic: they are attempting to change the law that they themselves enacted just two years ago when nothing that could not have been foreseen has occurred in the meantime. And they are doing so for their expediency. So not really "circumventing", I agree.

Arguably doing it because they fear the loss of 10s of thousands of jobs, chaos and delay for business, serious repercussions in N Ireland etc.
All when they could acquiesce for the sake of a quiet life and be seen not to be denying the alleged will of their electorate.

Rod Liddle (whom God preserve) has today declared he has become a member of the SNP - yes I too didn't know it still existed !
He read their manifesto and it was love at first sight. They have no MPs and just one MEP - (who defected from UKIP last September).

They appear to have just 2 grand in their coffers and 400 members - but says Rod there numbers are growing fast!

Then why did they vote to invoke A50 and vote in favour of the 2018 Withdrawal Act? This situation (the EU offering a totally unacceptable "deal") should have been uppermost in their minds.

ichkeria, the will of the electorate wasn't 'alleged'. It was positive a positive 'Leave'.

You can just put a big X across the whole ballot, you've no need to actually write a paragraph. You would then be honouring the women who lost their lifes, to allow a lady like yourself the chance to have a say in our political system. Also, you'd still be letting the system know how you feel, with a protest vote instead of not voting. If you don't vote then you have no leg to stand on when it comes to not being happy with the system.

I'll say one thing for Brexit. It's driving a big ,ugly wedge between friends ,neighbours, families etc. But the worst one is between the nations of the UK. How much longer before we revert to each one-England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales going their separate ways. It's evident from posts on here that some Scots want this. Let them go and see how they manage then. If they had to pay for everything like we English have to they might just be sorry to leave.

Andres a recent poll suggests the scots on AB aren't fully representing the entire picture then.

It is not 'alleged'
You either get out of bed to vote or you do not.
You either spoil your paper or do not.
The vote for those who did get out of bed and didn't spoil their ballot paper was counted and it clearly, not allegedly, showed a tiny majority was for leaving. That small majority was enough to trigger Brexit.
Those whodo not understand how it works should not be voting in the first place and go back to sulk in the corner.

Haha! I've always voted and despite being among the majority who voted in the referendum, I don't have a leg to stand on now!

I've said all along that I will never vote again if this does not go through as voted for, and I won't. The leave vote won, but as many, many MP's and the PM are remainers and are doing their level best to ensure that we DON'T leave, it has become a total farce and made a mockery of voting. I'm actually fuming !!
