I am saying nothing at this stage - I think the report, and the result of the case, says it all.

So your made up scenario is in pieces, andy...yes?

So why did the cops turn up in the first place?

Nothing happened that warranted them being thrown out the pub.

‘He said: 'I didn't know what he looked like but I had heard the name. My understanding was he was an 80s football hooligan.'

Yeah, right!

Naomi - // AH at 18.09, I read your posts. //

My mistake, I thought you were agreeing with Talbot's post where he avers that the landlord calling the police 'didn't happen'.

My apologies for the confusion.
I'm sure the people on this thread who go out and enjoy a drink will tell you that the police undermining pub security just doesn't happen.

This case is highly unusual in that the police willfully ignored the evidence of the pub security.

Can't think why..........................

Talbot - // So your made up scenario is in pieces, andy...yes? //

I don't have a 'made-up scenario' - all my references have been to the link I added, and my interpretation of what I have read, I have not made up anything.

// So why did the cops turn up in the first place? //

I have absolutely no idea. I suggested that maybe the landlord called them, but I don't know that, it was a suggestion only.

But you don't know any more than I do, so I don't understand why you decided that it, quote, 'didn't happen'.

// Nothing happened hat warranted them being thrown out the pub. //

The report says different - 'Tommy Robinson' was offered a chance to leave the pub, and elected not to do so.

If a police officer asks you to leave a pub and you refuse, the next action is pretty much a given.

The police enter pubs all the time, simply for a look round, it has nothing to do with 'undermining police security'! You really are reaching now Talbot …

// This case is highly unusual in that the police willfully ignored the evidence of the pub security. //

There is nothing in the report that indicates that the pub security were consulted at the time by the police, and then ignored their 'evidence' as you put it.

Like I say, you really are reaching on this one.

Sorry - pub security, not police security.
AH am interested in your opinion AFTER 1hr when you have absorbed Ezra's report.
//Sgt Paul Street, who moved Robinson on, told Peterborough county court he did not know who Robinson was at the time. He said he moved him on due to intelligence that he was a football supporter likely to cause trouble, and was with a group of other “risk” supporters.//

According to the Guardian, local intelligence was behind the Officer attending.

// You might want to dial back on the passive aggression, andy.//
OK Tommy Robinson is a stuck up dock - howz about that then?

anyway I thought AOG said he had been indicted in OZ
busy man Tommy.....
Earlier I said you had to be willfully ignoring the truth or be think...it is of course possible to be both.
Tommy as a victim - - wow, o yeah OK - being in a generous mood following Wales' win

Mamya - // According to the Guardian, local intelligence was behind the Officer attending. //

Thank you for that information.

I believe it strengthens my premise that 'Tommy Robinson' was spoken to because he was behaving like a football hooligan, not because he is 'Tommy Robinson'.

And speaking to 'Tommy Robinson' as a football hooligan seems eminently acceptable to me - that is what he is.

Indeed it is - and it is equally possible to be neither.

It just amused me that you added that to the charge sheet so I did a little riff on the Constable Savage sketch.

PS. He was drinking water.
// Mamya - // According to the Guardian, local intelligence was behind the Officer attending. //

ya - um- but doesnt this show Tommy IS known to the local police ?
or am I over thinking this in best AB fashion ?
// PS. He was drinking water.//

there being no wine - his mother said to him - they have no wine
and Tommy said - for chrissakes woman, I have the world to save, this afternoon!
and the mother said - do whatever you like - do whatever he says I mean, I cant do a thing with him.....I give up I really do .....

just thought I would do a riff on St Tommy and St John
it is a wet dark windy afternoon out there
Out of idle curiosity, I wonder where his children actually were.
