I am saying nothing at this stage - I think the report, and the result of the case, says it all.

An attempt ay humour - somewhat dissipated by the fact that another poster has advised that the police officer attending was acting on intelligence received.

''Hello...police''

Yes, what would you like to report

''I would like to report 3 men and 7 kids''

for what...what have they done?

''nothing''

we'll be right there
"Pity the judge wasn’t rather more well endowed."

Three hours and nobody has questioned this blatant sexism?

If I wanted to be well known, I might use the name my mother gave me and that I grew up with (unless I never grew up).

Seems straightforward to me, and one of the comments on the Daily Mail report said he had crowdfunded £40k for this case, Rebel Media picked up the bill anyway. Any evidence this isn't true? How do TR supporters feel, knowing that he would abandon his family in a pub on match day then make a total Richard of himself in order to ensure he was thrown out, secure in the knowledge of a big cash bonanza from those who think he is hard done by.

Another attempt at humour!

This one is also dissipated, not by previous information, but by a complete absence of humour!!!

I put it down to a text correction that Naomi missed - she is many things, but sexist is absolutely not one of them!
Given that there was no trouble, given that this sergeant didn't know who Tommy Robinson was... you tell me how this 'intelligence' worked andy.
"Sgt Street replied: 'Because he wasn't with his children. He was with a load of men drinking beer.'"

Oh, not three men and seven children then?

In the interests of fair play, I don't believe that 'Tommy Robinson 'abandoned his family … ' - I think it probable that he left his children outside with family and / or friends, which is not the same as abandoning them.

In terms of making a fuss by trying to film the police officer and then refusing to leave the pub, and being ejected as a result, I absolutely regard that as the usual attention-seeking stupidity on which 'Tommy Robinson' has built a lucrative career.

Bizarre.

You don't say? There was me thinking he told the judge that he hadn't a clue. Did he say where this "intelligence" (oxymorons abound) came from? Or was it all his own?

As far as I can ascertain from the link I posted, and from the information that has been provided on the thread -

An officer went to the pub and spoke to 'Tommy Robinson' and others, about what we don't know, but logic suggests that a conversation could have been the end of the matter. 'Robinson' was asked to leave the pub and refused, and this is where the situation departs from normal adult behaviour and veers into 'Tommyland' where everything is an excuse to increase his profile and underline his persecution complex -

Because 'Tommy Robinson' decided to film the officer, and was, it is advised, being loud, he was asked to leave the pub, refused, and was ejected.

Now knowing 'Tommy Robinson' as we do, it is clear that he was unable to leave matters as they were without seizing on another self-publicising moment, both there at the time, and subsequently in his legal action.

The officer didn't need to know who 'Tommy Robinson' was, he was dealing with a leery football fan grandstanding for his friends, and the reason there was no trouble is because 'Robinson', as the focal point, was ejected before he could carry on inciting it.

Don't give up your day job - comedy is clearly not for you.

Drinking in a pub with men is not going to get you into trouble - filming a police officer talking to you and refusing to leave when asked, is.

You may not think the difference is important in your avowed intent to see 'Tommy Robinson' as every bit of the 'victim' that he thinks he is - but provocative behaviour with the police tends to end one way.
Y'know what? When Ringo Starr, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Kiki Dee etc etc merit quotation marks every time they're put in print, I'll join Andy's Tommy crusade.
Andy, why would the police offer to settle out of court, twice, if they hadn't been in the wrong?

Do you really need the difference between a stage name, and adopting the name of a football hooligan as a persona, to be explained to you?

I would hope not.

I have no idea, but since that is not part of this debate, you'll excuse me for not pursuing it.

Elton John changed his name by deed poll, so it's not a stage name anymore - so you'll need to delete him when you mention this aspect of the conversation again.

So this officer who doesn't know who Tommy Robinson is... walks up to Tommy Robinson and demands he leave the pub.
The pub security tell the police ''this bloke has done nothing wrong'' but the police carry on with their mission of ejecting a random bloke who has committed no offence.

Really?
Haha trying to read this is like groundhog day. The short attention span that means everything has to be repeated before it can be answered is truly excrutiatingly hilarious in it's own way. Bless.
excruciatingly.

Excruciating.
