Talbot - // Given that there was no trouble, given that this sergeant didn't know who Tommy Robinson was... you tell me how this 'intelligence' worked andy. //
As far as I can ascertain from the link I posted, and from the information that has been provided on the thread -
An officer went to the pub and spoke to 'Tommy Robinson' and others, about what we don't know, but logic suggests that a conversation could have been the end of the matter. 'Robinson' was asked to leave the pub and refused, and this is where the situation departs from normal adult behaviour and veers into 'Tommyland' where everything is an excuse to increase his profile and underline his persecution complex -
Because 'Tommy Robinson' decided to film the officer, and was, it is advised, being loud, he was asked to leave the pub, refused, and was ejected.
Now knowing 'Tommy Robinson' as we do, it is clear that he was unable to leave matters as they were without seizing on another self-publicising moment, both there at the time, and subsequently in his legal action.
The officer didn't need to know who 'Tommy Robinson' was, he was dealing with a leery football fan grandstanding for his friends, and the reason there was no trouble is because 'Robinson', as the focal point, was ejected before he could carry on inciting it.
