This was kicking about a while ago, and I thought had been discredited but maybe not- didn't Russell Edwards pay for the forensics to prop up his new book? Assuming you're on about the Polish guy they were pointing the finger at because of DNA on a shawl anyway?
Unfortunately no reputable news source has written on the subject yet.. They're probably trying to find some certain facts or evidence before publicising these claims
I've watched many programmes on this over the years, and the most convincing argument pointed towards Tumblety.
Incidentally, there has recently been published a book by Hallie Rubenhold, which tells the true stories of the five women who were the victims, and who are always (wrongly) characterised as 'just' prostitutes or sex workers. The truth is very different, and I'm glad their reputations have been rescued.

Interesting - the favourite myth for conspiracy theorists is that The Ripper was a member of the Royal Family, which is why he was not caught, it will be interesting to see what is revealed.
That member ( hur hur hur pun intended ) of the Royals was Prince ALbert Victor - eldest son of Edward VII as prince of wales
Died of flu 1893.
educated along with George V ( as prince) - had a good memory for the more picturesque events in English history
his bag carrier - Lord Arthur SOmerset - was implicated in a rent boy scandal - The Cleveland St Affair - what is where the rent boys hung out or hem hem let it all hang out and may have been the cause of the later cover up
[I mean it is always gonna be murder or sex innit?]
PP, they may have been working women but only two were sex workers. I can’t do links but there was a lengthy story in the Guardian earlier this month which I think encapsulates Rubenholds new book.
