Another Brexit Vote.

Can someone explain to me why Theresa May can have 2 votes and wants a third on the same thing but the public are told they had their vote on Brexit and can't have another.

I might well wonder the same thing, since I'm also moaning about Cameron's and May's dishonesty. But who is called "honest" probably also depends a little on your point of view. Any assessment of honesty also ought to acknowledge that simply leaving on March 29th is almost certain to be highly damaging, not just to the economy but also to the UK's reputation, and that it is, at best, wishful thinking to suggest otherwise. Even if we proceed to leave anyway under those circumstances it would be far more honest for Moggo and others to admit this point then to pretend that No Deal is, in fact, fine at the same time as arguing that it has to be the exact opposite of that, in order for it to be any kind of threat to use as a bargaining chip.

Points of view are interesting and important. I suspect a nation's reputation is more damaged by agreeing a date 2 years in advance and then failing to meet it because parliament sees it's getting near the date and want to change its mind, and renege on that which it signed up to, than it does fulfilling the promise made to its people. And highly damaging is not demonstrated, just claimed; all, or most, agree there will be a transition period when the economy takes a hit, but economies go up and down, and there's geeat incentive for merchants and government to recover.
