I must amend my. Sposition, the PKK which trained him, is proscribed it seems.

The problem seems to be that he trained with terrorists, which is against the law. If he'd just gone and fought with the YPG there'd have been no issue.

Unfortunatley, the fact that he's broken the law can't just be ignored.

I might be wrong but I don't think those writers etc broke any laws of their native countries when they went to fight.
