Fingers crossed that despite the trial being held at the Old Bailey I’m hoping that as a Scouser he has a similar jury to the one assigned to the Ken Dodd trial.

The British Government, and the US President were only last week congratulati ng the YPG on defeating ISIS in Syria. Though they were careful to euphemistica lly call the ‘US backed rebels’. This prosecution demonstrates the British hypocrisy during the whole Syrian adventure. He should not be in court, we should be thanking him. A complete waste of...

Doddie - was indicted in the 'Pule wasnt he?
George Carman QC defended
and he acted as a feed to Doddie
when did you last speak to your mother in law
I havent spoken to her on the phone for six months - I dont like to interrupt her !
the Judge reproved the defence as it was not a music hall
Carman made his name and went down to London for jury libel trials ( v v lucrative)
sorry chilldo - someone mentioned it ....
oh whilst I am at it
Doddy was acquitted of the crime
but he still had tax to pay ( £1m)
and that there was interest ( up to £1m)
and pains and penalties as a civil charge ( not more than £1m)

Interesting.
Because this man has fought against Isis, he is being seen as innocent of any crime by at least two AB'ers, even though under UK law, the organisation that trained and equipped him, and for whom he fought, is a proscribed terrorist organisation.
It depends on how you want terrorism laws applied, evenly, or selectively, depending on the nationality of those involved.

Whereas I guess you’d like to see that Begum vermin allowed back here.
I don’t realky care for who he joined, I’ll just give him kudos for having the cojones to tackle daesh head on.
Hopefully the jury will see his actions as similar to Hemingway et al in the Spanish Civil War.

however those tidy souls in the house commons also made a few statutory crimes (latest terrorism act - end of) about serving in armies they didnt like ( deemed to be terroristen)
it is bad news boys and girls

Actually, a lot of them were female: https:/ /en.wik ipedia. org/wik i/List_ of_fema le_SOE_ agents
God. Does A-H have to be educated who S.O.E. operatives actually were during the 2nd World War? Some of them were primarily F.A.N.Y,s as a cover but he or one of his fellows consider them a bad name. Ha.
//A small part of FANY - highly secret at the time and later famous - served as a parent unit for many women who undertook espionage work for the Special Operations Executive. Recruits were trained in one of four fields: Motor Transport, Wireless Telegraphy, Codes or General. They worked on coding and signals, acting as conductors for agents and providing administration and technical support for the Special Training Schools. Their work was top secret and often highly skilled. Members operated in several theatres of war, including North Africa, Italy, India and the Far East. Thirty-nine of the 50 women sent into France by SOE were FANYs of whom 13 were captured and murdered by the Gestapo.[9] Many decorations, of both the UK and other countries, were awarded for their service and outstanding courage. Among these, four of the highest UK decorations were the George Cross awarded to Odette Hallowes (who was incarcerated and tortured, but survived the war), to Violette Szabo and Noor Inayat Khan (both perished in captivity and were decorated posthumously). Nancy Wake's awards included the George Medal.[9][11]
Elsewhere abroad, FANY agents served the Finnish Government;[12] a section was attached to the Polish Army; and a Kenyan section, formed in 1935, was made the official East African unit by the War Office in August 1941, and was very active during the war. This section took women from all over the southern half of Africa.
A memorial at St Paul's Church, Knightsbridge commemorates 52 named members who were killed on active service with the Corps in World War II.[13] //

The I suggest you get your 'Guesser' checked because it is faulty.
You don't need to 'guess' what I think I will tell you, and I have - your version is a made-up response that bears no resemblance to what I said whatsoever.

A nation at war sending covert operatives into enemy territory does not equate with one individual deciding that he would like the romance of imagining that he is making himself part of history by joining one terrorist organisation in order to fight another.
Since the comparions on which I comented does not stand up - no I don't need to be educated on this occasion, but thanks for the thought.

Of Course A-H
I forgot you can't have any truck with revenge or retribution. Well some gentlemen find the decapitation of their fellow Englishmen abhorrent and have the cajones to try and stamp it out rather than sit back on Answerbank all their working life and criticise. He did what he thought was correct and made a good call. Sadly the bed wetting lefty liberals do not agree. Drone strikes only take out the baddys providing there are some who have the guts to provide the information of the baddys and go in theatre but I wonder if you disagree with the likes of the Beatles and Jihadi John being slotted?
