spath, the problem is not the first reaction. Once you have had an allergic reaction so something, it sensitises your body and subsequent reactions can be worse to the point of anaphylaxis. I have had two reactions to penecillin, neither of which were anaphyllaxis but I have been told that I have to be really careful not to trigger any more. Fortunately penecillin is easy enough to avoid.
Spath, please answer my post at 12.46.
Question Author
Surely all vaccinations are different though? They don't all cause people problems. Also the risk of anaphyllaxis is like 1 in a million that NHS thing says it's really rare.

spath - you make lots of spelling errors and I have the common decency not to pull you up on it.
But yet again, you are showing your nasty side when you start to lose a debate.
Question Author
well maybe if you didn't call me too thick to understand basic medical knowledge i wouldn't have to.

Start to lose a debate? What is the debate here? LOL you're just getting all offended. I'm not even certain you get the point i'm making with this thread.

Do you have any idea?
Like I said on the other thread. My kids school wouldn't let them go on school trips unless they were vaccinated.

I don't know what vaccinations I've had. I've had the mumps and measles. Whatever ones we were given in school.

My aunt contracted German measles in pregnancy. My cousin is severely disabled.
Question Author
"Remember that anaphylactic reactions are extremely rare (less than 1 in a million)."

I think 1 in a million kids being told they can't attend school for the health and safety of the planet is worth it.
Spath, What about , mmr and diphtheria?
Question Author
probably, i'm not sure. I just know i had all the ones at the time of being a baby. Then, i had more in school. So i don't know.. but probably.
sorry RR but there is something gloriously ironic about telling someone they are thick, while at the same time not appearing to know the difference between you're and your, and to and too.:)
Question Author
Danny i've 100% had my diphtheria vaccine, not sure about the other.
Ever noticed how the most vociferous amongst us, for all things inclusive and welcoming, are usually the first to celebrate knee jerk bans for some citizens? As long as they are making the choices on who is to be excluded mind.
Question Author
togo this is for the health of the entire worlds population.
Question Author
it's rather important. If one thing kills off the human race, it'll be the climate or more likely a superbug created by those without vaccinations or who take too many antibiotics.
Sp probably you should not mix with people, just in case you are carrying an undisclosed infectious disease.
My children are all vaccinated and my youngest son is autistic. I never believed there was a connection.
Spath vaccinations function by stimulating the immune system to react and to produce antibodies. An overreaction is an allergic reaction and a severe allergic reaction is an anaphyllactic episode. There is no difference in the mechanism, only in the degree.
In case you are wondering I am in general pro vaccination. What I am not in favour of is legal sanction against people who choose not to have their children vaccinated.....for one thing the question that would spring to my mind is "if this is so safe and desireable why are people being forced to do it?"
Leaving aside the rarer medical reasons for non vaccination for a moment - the anti-vaxxers are doing a ot of damage with their dcare mongering an of course with the internet it has spread far beyond the USA.

This young man is claiming his religion is against it whilst the Church in fact isn't.

Elsewhere the resurgence of the link to autism (unproven) of certain vaccines is rearing it's head again.
All very worrying.
