Who the bloody hell's 'trigger'???

So what if it is another Brexit thread, don't understand that complaint! If a thread doesn't interest me, I don't post - simples ..
So this one interests you?
A further "insight" as to how May has been playing the corrupt, and not fit for purpose, current House of Clowns. There will come a reckoning and not necessarily a peaceful one.

^^ Not much comfort for May in that tranche
Not much comfort for us either, Khandro.
The article (and OP and others) are totally missing the point.
May did not rig her Cabinet against Brexit, she rigged it in favour of Brexit.
The Tory Government is split, about two thirds of MPs are Remainers and a third Leavers. But those figures were not represented in the Cabinet. In an effort to try and unite her party, May over represented the Leavers, including too many in the Cabinet and particularly in the Department for Brexit.
The result was a Brexit agreement concocted by Davis/Raab/May that most of her MPs could not support.

Gromit; //May over represented the Leavers, including too many in the Cabinet and particularly in the Department for Brexit. //

The "Department for Brexit", or to give it its proper name,
The Department for Exiting the European Union is, to quote their job description, "Responsible for overseeing negotiations to leave the EU and establishing the future relationship between the UK and EU."

How on Earth could it have "too many" leavers in it? Leaving the EU, is its Raison d'Etre
She might be fooling the public now, but at the time of the referendum, I think people just thought that if we voted leave, then we would leave. Simples. But it's funny though innit? You've got to laugh haven't you? It's funny innit? Oh dear! :o)
I'll tell you what's not funny Clarion is the thought of Corbyn winning a General Election.
// How on Earth could it have "too many" leavers in it? Leaving the EU, is its Raison d'Etre //

And it failed massively precisely because it did not represent the views of the Conservative MPs. It was utterly pointless working nearly three years on ‘a solution’ that even its own party could not vote for. They were a little clique, who produced a fantasy document that (nearly) everyone dismissed, and unfortunately the whole Brexit thing might fail as a consequence.
The Department for Brexit should have been filled with people with more political nous, who could have sounded out what other MPs wanted. Instead it was full of hard liners who produced garbage that no one but themselves, wanted.

Gromit; //The Department for Brexit (sic) should have been filled with people with more political nous, who could have sounded out what other MPs wanted.//

No, it was there to initiate what the PUBLIC wanted, - the result of the referendum.

// No, it was there to initiate what the PUBLIC wanted, - the result of the referendum. //

And it failed because it was inept.

If we are talking conspiracies, it could be argued that May sabotaged Brexit by delegating the task to some very useless players. She gave the hard Brexiteers enough rope, and they duly hung themselves.

That makes more sense than trying to claim to cabinet was rigged against Brexit, when it demonstratively wasn’t.
it was there to initiate what the PUBLIC wanted, - the result of the referendum

only it didn't, because it was incompetent. In spite of being full of Brexiters .... or because of?
Question Author
Why not look at the facts? Davis was removed from his task by May, who said she and Olly Robbins would now do ALL the negotiating themselves, which they did with the connivance of Merkel, producing the outrageous near 600 pp document which the cabinet members were given only on the eve of the infamous Chequers meeting to be told, at the risk of being sacked, they had to accept it as the only possible offer.
Not so much her cabinet but most of Parliment is remain so basically the majority were on a loser because no matter how many in her cabinet had been anti EU the rest would still have bollaxed it up.
The whole Londoncentric elite were remainers. PROJECT FEAR was backed by the Treasury, Bank of England, Chancellor and PM.

it failed to frighten ordinary people, who saw through the "ever closer union" trick.

This is the public which wasn't fooled.

we have the worst bunch of muppets sitting on the lovely green leather benches. Come back Guy Fawkes, all is forgiven.
WHY ARE WE GOING OVER OLD GROUND ???
I will never give neither my vote.
Farage does not fill me with confidence. But he will get my vote.
Better for me to give someone a chance to deliver than to be lied to.
I detest those in parliament that have deceived.
Those cretins make my spine tingle. Their hour will come !
Klaz,
I’m afraid that you will be wasting your vote.
In 2017, (at its peak) UKIP got just 1.8% of voter share and lost its only seat.
UKIP stood in only half the available seats.
hear hear klazo.
My vote maybe wasted as you say Grommit.
But I will sleep at night knowing I haven't voted for the scum that have absolutely destroyed democracy in its entirety.
