Seriously, hope that they can dowse this quickly and minimise damage as much as possible. As to the nuances of the language, yes the church is feminine in french and it would be brulée - in terms of the national motto, then it's a single é.... I'm taking the p out of the French government.....

oh come on Sunny ! none of us can do anything- my garden hose aint long enough. It looks as tho the whole nave roof has gone - 25 mins. And repair work WAS being done .... when Richard Brinsley Sheridan's theatre ( Theatre Royal I Think) was burning - the author got a chair and started reading a newspaper. A passerby wondered why he wasnt more proactive and he replied - a man can sit beside his own fire can;t he?
( recognised that the whole thing was not salvageable apparently)
