Such a shame and those who tried to add humour...you're not funny!!
Absolutely awful and devastating for this beautiful 13th century Gothic architectural building :o(
oo-la-la ummmm ! well - we are where we are.....

even the crowd ( outside the church ) are murmuring - where are the bliddy hoses ?

well this is PP in full swing !

I agree notre place for jokes.
How awful. It's really saddened me. Seeing the spire collapse seemed so final.

What do I expect?
No more than I'm getting to be honest, a half-wit is a half-wit.
There is an awful lot of hand-wringing and pious sentiment typical of AB and sniffy value-signalling

wouldnt it have been better to plan fire precautions during work ? instead of the sighing and wondering where the water is , during ?

"l'incendie est potentiellement lie aux travaux de renovation de l'edifice (pompiers)" - so the French know that fires are linked to renovation - so it cd be planned for as it has been identified

I agree a delicate building should have extreme precautions when doing work
Some other time, PP. It's not welcome now.
It's easy to say in retrospect but why weren't emergency procedures planned prior to the repairs taking place?
the pompiers ( french for firemen - just to vex the mono-glots)
—————
Why do you always feel the need to pervade each and every thread with such idiocy?
And don’t refer to me as ‘Sunny’, I’m nearly 54 you clown.
PP
Sappers Pompiers is the correct designation for these emergency workers who have, also ,a paramedic role. Course you knew that didn't you?
// I am suprised he hasn't already compared the pyrotechnic characteristics of L'eglise Francais with the Church of Oradour-Sur-Glane.//

insults - libel - things I never read in the Bible !
l'eglise francaise is presumably Notre Dame - Oradour for AB thickos is where the Germans locked villagers inside a church, machine-gunned them and set it on fire. (listeners to German prisoners picked up accounts of this including - "we had got the wrong village and had to do the same thing elsewhere three weeks later!" eek). erm there may be a parallel .....

//Baldric: a half-wit is a half-wit.//
nay Balders you are doing yourself down ! ter-daah !

Just watched a video on BBC, and I saw only one hose being used.
sapeurs-pompiers

It's why Peter informs, to avoid small errors like that.

Bonsoir.

from ( de ) : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pompier

appear to be different. but if you say they are identical Retro, I am sure you are right, you are of course a policeman
Blimey - they say it will be razed .....
