Some will introduce ISIS, Islam, Muslims etc using any excuse...
Awful news. Like others I've been there and this saddens me, such a magnificent building.
v_e, yes, several, notably, la Licorne après Apollinaire.

/// Do ISIS even exist anymore i though they were defeated ///

Who knows? They may be defeated on their own ground, but how do we know what is going off 'underground'

/// your answer at 13:40 AOG implies ISIS could be responsible ///

I don't think it does, I merely posting a clip from an old Fox news report, which stated that ISIS had at that time threatened an attack on the Eiffel Tower.
What relevance did it have though AOG if not to imply ISIS could be involved with Notre Dame?

Oh I forgot that any mention of ISIS, Islam or Muslims are not to be mentioned, least of all criticised or condemned in any way whatsoever.

I remember the times when an English person, could once say what he or she wanted to, in his or her's own country.

It's a possibility, or have you some inside knowledge that the rest of us are not privileged to know of?
Such sad news though, people have lost their lives and others being injured.

Never heard of the saying "Food for Thought"?
"It's a possibility, or have you some inside knowledge that the rest of us are not privileged to know of?"

I agree it's a possibility although one that's not very likely.. And no I have no info that others don't. In fact, i know very very little about this apart from that there were two fires? Both high up in the building.
Something i read online that'll get the christians moist

"The Gargoyles of Notre Dame were guardians of the church and once removed the church was no longer protected."

/// Such sad news though, people have lost their lives and others being injured. ///

I must have missed that, I was unaware that people had been killed and others injured, I was aware that a fireman has been injured, but no one else.

Have you got a link?

jesus and they say I am the mad one ....

the French idea of Laicite covers Islam as well - which means that the law on hijab in schools would be different to ours ( no religious symbols)

and as above - the French distinguish radical Islam from terrorism whilst saying in the same breath "and the English dont"

Also I point out - they are slow to criticise the pompiers ( oK retro- pompiers sapeurs ) who stood around with their hands in their pockets for a few hours, but who have a sanctified status in Paree and France

Bataclan and manchester - the pompiers stated loudly to anyone who would listen that the pompiers ran towards gunfire at Bataclan and at Manchester instead- they ran away. Cue elf and safety one liners from 3T

we Manks had to bite our lips at that one .....
No link AOG... listening to 'Talksport'.
what about a AB headline:

Shameema says - 'Let Paris burn!'
from our special correspondent AOG. This brave old man has traveled out to El Hole ( 'and what a hole!' AOG) to interview international terrorist and bad girl Briton Shameema begum
Roving correspondent AOG has travelled thro Raghouz and commented 'Raghouz is nicknamed Raghead - because it doesnt seem to matter who you shoot and how many times'. He passed onto El HOle, finding Shameem with another baby ( I borrowed it honest). The school girl insisted - "look I wanna come home - I wont even go near a box of matches or a cigarette lighter. honest - sew me into a suicide vest and send me to Hell if I lie". She misses most - pistachio ice cream and endless replays of Emmerdale ......

sorry this is aspoof - got bored.....
// /// Such sad news though, people have lost their lives and others being injured. ///

no none - altho one of the crowd might have gone - whoopsie!

[partial return to sanity]
maybe I misheard it.. oops I wasn't reporting the news.
1 fireman seriously injured was what I heard.
Notre-Dame is burnt to the ground and less than 24 hours later over €400million has been pledged to rebuild. President Macron has pledged to do everything in his power to rebuild the cathedral!

Grenfell Tower fire 72 people perished and the 223 people that survived spent over 12 months with no permanent accommodation and for many they have still not received the mental and financial support they need to recover from the fire.

The difference? One of the buildings contained things of perceived value and the other building contained people who had no value to the government. Shame how possessions are given more priority than human life! Can only imagine how Grenfell victims feel watching all this footage on the tv.
Oh dear......

Take it elsewhere, splat.
