Now will people admit that the kind of climate change we're experiencing isn't just "natural" ?

I personally don't want kids, because i literally don't see the point. A financial burden, leaving them in a planet of mess and chaos. I'd rather try make a change and be called a VS than do nothing and be too cool for thoughts, man.
spath, wind your neck in. We had a whole thread here recently where the self-confessed eco warriors all extolling the virtues of a 16 year old girl and the people who created havoc in London went full blast at anyone who didn't agree with them on the causes of climate change or on the solutions. Not one of them bothered to ask if any of their perceived opponents were doing anything to attempt to reduce the problem - and that I found insulting. Take note.
the present government blocked the completion of the Great Western rail electrification, ("too expensive and too disruptive when we can have shiny new gee-whizz diesels now"), meaning that all the new trains have had to be retro-fitted with diesel engines. these trains have a projected life of 40 years and will still be belching diesel smoke in the 2050s. this has effectively killed rail electrification in the UK for a generation, and all new builds of stock are, without exception, "hybrids", to cope with places where there are no wires.
"after recent fiascos failing to get us out of the EU in time. "
Well the main issue for that was making promises they had no idea if they could commit to. Seems more of a voter being too blind, assuming a MP would know things no one else in the universe would rather than an MP not for-filling a promise. If someone makes a promise you know they can't commit to, because the info they're promising is unknown, then don't believe a word they say. I said this at the result of the vote, and it's became a reality. They knew F all, but made promises on this info they didn't have. No we're here.

Naomi people were protesting to try and change the opinion of society, yes you may do things here and there to help the environment, but the corporations, big gov companies do sweet nada all. That's who they are annoyed at. To disrupt those, first you must disrupt their workers. Get everyone on the same agenda. They are passionate, and you taking what they say personally to your every day to day life is moot, because your life isn't their agenda. You're simply cog in the system of society. One very low down.

Unless the whole world goes down the same path, especially the likes of India, China and the USA, then whatever we do, with the economic and social upheavel that will go with it, will be simply pointless. They will all be carrying on as normal and we will be carrying on with this pointless excercise.
"Some simply have no interest in virtue signalling by publicly jumping on the eco-warrior bandwagon."
But you see fit to ask other contributors if they have bought a horse and cart yet? It is your prerogative to be virtuous in silence, but others must make public proclamations?
I detect higher methane emissions than a dairy farm, or perhaps it's just bull shirt?

Spath, //nothing has been directed specifically at you. I did not post this thread with you in mind//.
No you didn’t post this thread with me in mind Nevertheless, during the course of it you’ve told me to post elsewhere, that my comments are ‘snowflake’ and you’ve advised me to grow up. Pretty specific I’d say, but hey ho.

You will be aware they were perfectly capable of not requesting extensions and trying to stop the decision made by the majority, but they showed themselves as considering their wants more important than representing the people. They have lost credibility.
Meanwhile we were already progressing towards reducing the climate problems. This "emergency" stuff is mere posturing by these same MPs. If there are reasonable suggestions as to getting where we want to be, faster, then fine, we should consider them: but in a more reasoned, less emotive manner than we see now.
