I didn't vote at all how I would in a general election because I was voting on local issues although that may be the minority reason - I can understand many just wanted to send a message but not sure that the swings would be reflected were it MPs we were voting for.

It does add "Note: change is calculated from the dissolution of the council, other providers compare results to the previous election." So perhaps that's the source of the discrepancy, ie perhaps various UKIP-elected councillors defected since the 2015 election?
