I really can't be faffed to read all of the 13 preceding pages - but as a card-carrying leftie, liberal ... I think he was entirely right in what he did.

He may indeed be an odious, Tory gammon - but I struggle to see anything wrong in his instinctive reaction to an intruder approaching a senior member of the Government.

A question for those who think he acted with inappropriate force :

"If it had been a tan coloured bloke with a beard and a turban and a flowing robe, would the MP have been right in stopping him?".

In today's equal society, a smart looking, white woman in a nice red frock is (potentially) every bit as dangerous - and assuming otherwise gets you (potentially again) killed.
