As the press and AB concern themselves over a stabbing in far away Sydney, I found this tucked away down the News items, this the 87h murder in our own capital so far this year.

The Press report according to interest and sales, it isn't to do with the "importance". The more commonplace something becomes, the less likely it is to be reported.

I don't think the incident in Sydney would have got as much attention over here but for the fact that the men apprehending the madman were from Bury, Lancashire.
