Khafi Kareem ,a Met police officer asked for leave to go to Nigeria ( to take part in their version of Big Brither ) her request was turned down but she went anyway, whilst there she had sex with another housemate live on TV
My opinion, Yes she should be sacked,if you ask your employer for time off and you take it anyway , isn't that gross misconduct ?

Yes, I do, actually. My parents were *both* Police Officers and when you join you accept that being a Police Officer is pretty much a 24/7/365 occupation.

Was she wearing her uniform whilst in bed under the covers?.......
Exactly, Danny.
Was she on duty?
Also Danny, do you discredit the MET for this womans actions on Big brother???
I don't think anyone would or has discredited the metropolitan police force due to Khafi Kareem's actions.
Spath - it doesn't matter if she was on duty. Many of my colleages have been sacked over the years for shennanigans whilst off duty. Don`t like it ? - don`t work there.
Only if you think she was discrediting them. I don't think she was- and especially as everyone agrees she wasn't representing them.
lol imagine if sex could discredit a police force.

Snowflakes much

It's not your decision though. If they think she was, she'll probably get the sack.

I have a hunch she'll get away with some kind of reprimand.
Maybe this publicity will help her win the show and she can finally live her dream of being a TV presenter anyways.
Yes, I'm sure Ludwig, but bobbi was asking for opinions on whether we thought she should be sacked... and that was mine.
Out of interest, if she was and then claimed unfair dismissal... would they have to prove she had discredited them, and how?
She asked for and was denied permission to go on the show. Then concocted some tale to get extended leave. The Met would probably not even have known she was on the show but for the publicity garnered by the undercover sex. Interesting to see that if she wins, she intends to spend her prize money on touring every state of Nigeria with a film crew. So she probably knows her police career is already over.
spath - The Police Service doesn't take the 'laid-back' attitudes of Millenials into account when judging the actions of a serving officer.

Nigeria is a very conservative country (large areas are under the influence of Islam) so I am surprised that she decided to 'go all the way' on TV.

She may be, presently, a serving Officer but her heart seems to lie elsewhere....
JTH do you think her actions are fair for dismissal?
A distinct lack of respect for herself and for her chosen career. I would sack her.

OK

I personally think sexual intercourse under the covers during the night whilst on 24/7 TV is actually really not a big issue that people are making it to be. Certainly not a big enough issue to discredit her unique and versatile skills in the force, or the force as a whole.
spath - I refer you to the first paragraph I wrote on this thread.
I have 3 daughters and i would be mortified if any of them ever followed this woman's example. Bet her parents are oh so proud.
