09:30 Tue 20th Aug 2019
I did have: Crewe rly stn can you tell me what the announcer has just said?
are you deaf ?
yes ! how did you tell ?
rescued by a passer-by that time .....
It's clear to me Jiminy.
My son in law profoundly deaf since birth. Fantastic guy. Love him. Great husband and father of six. Works hard. Does favours for anybody.
Yes, mamya... a clear difference between something which is personal and intended to upset, offend, make you feel stupid or a general joke not aimed at you. It isn't even really about how funny it is... just that it is not meant and shouldn't be taken seriously. I think humour is important and the majority of people don't want to be pitied. Everyone has things about them that aren't "perfect".

Does anyone have any jokes that couldn't possibly offend anyone anywhere ever?
Everything is guaranteed to someone.
*offend someone*
That is my feeling too, naomi. If you are determined enough to feel offended, you will find it somewhere.
What is the pun?
Don’t tell me it’s “tourettes/florets”
OK. I won't tell you.
Now Mr Hunt ... I see you claim to have Tourettes, but is that really any excuse for naming your sons Mike and Umak?
I think it is fair to say that some people with disabilities, conditions or illnesses may have been ridiculed, vilified or offended by someone at some time for that very reason so why would any one be surprised that they may have been offended by a joke?

If you think about it, most jokes are atsomeone's expense.
I have seen a few comedians, where there is the odd joke that personally I might find unfunny/ tasteless- and rarely, offensive. But clearly that is just me, and others don't. If there was someone I just never enjoyed, I just wouldn't watch them myself, but i wouldn't want them banned.
Is it just me it is that the worst pun ever?
“Courgettes” would be closer.
Actually so would “turnip”
Bernard Manning was so offensive but so funny.
Well you all seem very thick skinned, and don't get offended. Does this mean the report button is redundant?
I only use report for obvious spam. However, my point was, even if I am offended, that doesn't mean something should be banned.

" I didn’t get this joke the first time I heard it and I still don’t. "

now that is funny...look on the bright side though, at least you know the the Humour -by-Pass op you spent all that money on has been a success !...
> The Demerara joke too racist to re-publish?

Thanks Mamya, I set 'em up and you knock 'em down :)

I’m surprised no one has complained about re-runs of the Morecambe & Wise show. What with Ernie’s inability to write like wot he ought to, and Eric’s incompetence in playing all the right piano notes but not necessarily in the right order, if those seeking offence try very hard doubtless they’ll find it’s something to do with learning difficulties.
