Are you being offended on behalf of yourself or others? You talk of disrespect and finding comments not funny.
Well in your words humour is moot or subjective isn't it?
Not so long back you were splitting your sides laughing at two white Englishmen going about their lawful business in an English thoroughfare getting milkshakes thrown over them. They were humiliated and made to look foolish. Where was your respect for them and how did you find that so funny.?
If you use the word 'perverting their body' incorrectly I will tell you that you have a perverse set of morals.
You want to make ridiculous allegations with regards crime committed I will mention three. 1. Criminal Damage 2. Common Assault. 3. Behaviour likely to cause a breech of the peace.
Take you pick spath. I didn't hear you championing the cause of these two men who were victims. You laughed your head off.
Don't come here preaching your morals and respect. You have few of your own.

spath, The burka isn't ridiculous.. it is in the western world, it comes from cultures where women are to be heard and not seen, and in some places not heard or seen, less they get a beating, it's a uniform of subservience, it does not say in the koran to completely cover up or obliterate ones appearance, this garment is man made dictat, its an oppressive and has no place in the 21 century, it gives men carte blanche over females, even in the west as we do not want to offend them.. or be called racist, its not racist to call out oppression, boris could have said, it's a garment of oppression.

hi Retro - are you well
I remember one uuof your colleagues telling ( an Aryan) to put away a union flag as it was upsetting a passer-by - from AsiaI seem to recollect
also a sikh was speaking on behalf of a muslim
you have no idea of the religious significance ( a bit like sinn fein saying o come on Boris you are giving the UVF a hard time)
and as evry reader will confirm, not every crime reported to the police results in any action at all

// the burka isn't a symbol by any means. It's a religious garment //
No it is not
Face veiling has not been regarded as a religious requirement by most Islamic scholars, past or present.
Reasons for wearing
There exists no single reason why women may wear the burqa, and this practice must be understood within a particular social context. A woman may wear it to express her piety, her views on sexual modesty, her rejection of Western notions of sexuality, her desire for increased mobility or privacy in a social environment dominated by men, or her membership in a political movement. In the most publicized context, women were required, often against their will, to wear the burqa by the Taliban as a matter of policy during their rule of Afghanistan
