I am not treating anybody like a fool, and never will.

Any course of actions requires caring about the detail. You wouldn't propose, I'm sure, a law passed saying "Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: OOT OOT OOT"

Although, come to think of it, that would be mildly amusing. But it also doesn't get the job done. Details matter. It's a shame that the Brexit camp won on the sweeping argument but failed to pay enough attention to the small print.
Yes, Jim, you are treating people as fools. Only a day or so ago you told me //the result was implemented once Article 50 Notification was given//. Errant nonsense - and you know it.
No, Naomi, I am not. Stop making things up about me. I engage in this debate because I have the basic decency to treat nobody as fools.

As regards that argument, I think it's a perfectly legitimate one to make, and I believe in it sincerely. I might be mistaken -- it's been known -- but I'm not playing anybody for fools.
I want out. Not somebody telling me I did not know what I was voting for. Cheeky ***.
Bu"$$ers
//the result was implemented once Article 50 Notification was given//.

I don't make things up - and I didn't make that up. They are your words, Jim - just as you told us that democracy doesn't mean what we think it means. Your words - no one else's.
The thing you are making up is that I'm treating people like fools. I don't deny that I said either of those things, and I certainly stand by the former position.
//The thing you are making up is that I'm treating people like fools. //

No, Jim, I am not making it up. The result of the referendum was not implemented with the triggering of A50 - this country is STILL a member of the EU - and therefore by expecting people to believe that utter tripe you are treating them as fools. When you say that democracy doesn't mean what we think it means, you are treating people as fools. They know what democracy means just as well as you do. Just stop.
Jim - your contempt has a foul taste.
For years it has been said that Europe will destroy the Conservative Party. It has been split for decades, but it looks like it has gone into the final phase.

The analogy of rats leaving a sinking ship seems very apt at the moment with all the departures. When everyone has gone, what will be left will not be unelectable.

I did not have high expectations of Boris’ Prime Ministership, but even I am surprised it has all gone so pear shaped, so quickly.
I'm loving this! It's high time that Tories and Labour sorted themselves out and MPs or would-be MPs aligned themselves according to their actual beliefs & not according to which party was most likely to get (or keep) them in a job. If it results in a good shake up of UK politics & achieves nothing else Brexit (or not) will have been worthwhile.
The rats shouldn't have kept gnawing away at the ship's timbers.
And definitely ought not be trying to overwhelm the captain.
//When everyone has gone, what will be left will not be unelectable.//

PP translated that for me. Don't think you meant to say that, gromit.
Poor Boris, what more can the man do ?? He is being shafted at every opportunity and all because the 'remainer, MP's are determined that not only will we not leave the EU with or without a deal, we will not leave at all !! It seems they are winning, which I fully expected, but which I am bloody fuming about. We must be the laughing stock of the world. We had a vote, the leave vote won, we should have left by now irrespective of what any one thinks or feels. Cheerio democracy, please don't slam the door on your way out ..
The next one to go should be Boris , get rid of the Evil little man NOW.
Don't worry, H, they aren't winning. They are charging headlong into a very cunning Cummings trap.
09.10 "He is being shafted" He want's Shafting.
