Never say never. If you ever get the dreaded Flu you will wonder why so many of your workmates report in sick with it.
A dribble out your nose ain't the flu. If some of the guys I worked with experienced flu as many times as they reported sick then they would pray for an early death in reality.
the government's own Brexit report did warn of medical shortages, so Britain may be especially badly prepared

However, the local chemist has got the flu jabs in, so I'll go for a wee prophylactic and hope it works this year.

The fact that the world is overdue for a major pandemic is nothing new. It's simply that the GPMB is doing its best to remind governments of that fact.
The worry is that people will only see the report as 'scaremongering', when the risks are very real indeed. The GPMB isn't a 'conspiracy organisation', which can be easily discredited. Instead it's a highly-reputable body, jointly set up by the World Health Organisation and the World Bank, with a membership that includes Krishnaswamy VijayRaghavan, Yasuhiro Suzuki and Jeremy Farrar (all of whom are internationally acclaimed scientists), with Gro Harlem Brundtland (who's a doctor with an excellent track record in politics) and Elhadj As Sy (representing the Red Cross and the Red Crescent, who would be in the forefront of a battle against any pandemic) co-chairing the organisation.
Their report need to be taken seriously!

//How is 'We're all going to die' news?//
Because it is a scientific forecast written in a newspaper about a likelihood of a pandemic.Just like the 1918 Flu virus that killed more people than the hostilities in the first world war. I thought you were a former teacher and would be aware of those facts ,but then again, perhaps not judging by the level of intelligence these days of your average student the left wingers indoctrinate in the profession.
