Ahh it all makes sense now! The sadism of the met. Vile. I can not believe the off duty cop isn't facing retribution. Reasonable force? Pffft. What kind of example does this set! Absolutely vile.

As has been said the guy was already restrained If this copper is willing to head butt the guy in full glare of the public ; when any threat was already neutralised ;i wonder what he is prepared to do to other people , when there is no one around in a non life threatening situation . Whatever you think of the guy is irrelevant in the circumstances I certainly wouldn't...

teacake - // You need to get the chip off your shoulder, anyone threatening to stab needs to learn a stiff lesson. Job done!! //

But this is not teaching someone 'a stiff lesson', it's assault, and it's an offence, and the fact that it is a police officer makes it even worse.

I wonder how you'd feel if you had kids, and a police officer felt it was appropriate to headbutt one of them in the face.. maybe if they were drunk on a night out or on a train?

It'd be fair enough though wouldn't it.. To teach them a lesson?
Question Author
No,No Andy.. let teacake say it how they see fit!

Obviously this kind of violence teaches a stiff lesson.

You know.. like spanking kids teaches a stiff lesson! Violence is obviously the way forward.

Nice one teacake! You're condoning this vile, honestly sickening behaviour. Fine by me live your life under that kind of ideology i'm sure you'll live a happy one.
@ 10.23 yes!!!
teacake - // @ 10.23 yes!!! //

Clearly you are simply on a wind-up, and your future contributions to this thread should be ignored for what they are.
@10.23 not been proved as an assault. ?
Question Author
Well done Teacake you've just publicly condoned this kind of behaviour on your own children.

Good luck to them in life, i guess.
@10.27 Not a wind up at all!! my opinion.

Teacake is winding you up, ignore him.

Andy it's not for me to care.. I'd be more concerned if i was Teacakes kids. Imagine a parent saying they'd be OK for that kind of manoeuvre to be applied to you?? Awful.
@10.31 my kids have all grown up, married with there own families, very upstanding, and don't go, and have never gone about threatening to stab other members of the public. your getting a chip on your shoulder even now because I don't agree with you on this subject.
Question Author
You can tell yourself that to make you feel better but at 10:25 you used two exclamation marks (indicates your strong, emotive support) so say "yes" to the question "It'd be fair enough though wouldn't it.. To teach them a lesson?". We all know that the action of teaching a lesson was a brutal headbutt to the face, because that's the entire topic of discussion.

You've made your view point clear Teacake there is no need for further exchange.

No-one is suggesting for a moment that threatening to stab people is acceptable behaviour.

The point here is, headbutting someone is not acceptable behaviour either, and the behaviour of one individual in this scenario, does not excuse the behaviour of the other.

If you think it's OK for your children to be assaulted, then that's for you to live with, but disagreeing with that view does not amount to have 'a chip on the shoulder'.
Question Author
The guy was restrained for 6 minutes after he threatened to stab people (he didn't even have a knife)

He then got headbutted for shouting "I'm not clever". That was the reason for the headbutt, it's obvious in the video.

He didn't get headbutted for threatening to stab people, else we would have saw that. The headbutt was not planned 6 minutes in advance was it not.
Question Author
He got restrained by 3 people for threatening to stab people. He got headbutted for shouting about his own intelligence.
What's his hair colour got to do with anything? Are ginger people more likely to headbutt people?
Question Author
They don't call it a "ginger nut" for nothing.
You both seem to be getting very mad with me because I don't agree with you. Its my opinion of this situation, if anyone threatens life by stabbing, weather it be my family members or any other, they deserve what they get. My case rests.
To be fair I've seen people be hit for much less but he was a police officer, he is trained in restraint and had other people as back up. He had no need to use any extra force.
Question Author
"if anyone threatens life by stabbing"

What if in the moment someone is having a mental health situation?? You still think they deserve this kind of unofficial punishment?

Umm exactly my point! He wasn't in danger and the man he headbutted was apprehended.
