TTT- that even Farago is beginning to realise that Brexit is a bad idea (maybe it will figure in the revised version of "1066 and All That" as "A Bad Idea")

600 candidates means £300,000 in deposits, most of which, if not all, will be lost. It looks as though Nige is trying to destroy any hope of Brexit.
// It looks as though Nige is trying to destroy any hope of Brexit. //

He's not 'trying' to destroy it. He knows it's been destroyed - drowned in a swamp of lies - and nothing anyone does will change that.
Unsatisfactory though it may be, the only hope of achieving any form of Brexit is a Tory government with a good working majority.

Where's this "swamp of lies" that have been "drowned"? If you mean Boris's deal then I agree with you - in which case why are you apparently going to vote for him/his cronies?
Jackdaw, the only real form of Brexit is 'Leave' - completely. That isn't going to happen - and Nigel knows it.
Take a step back, diddlydo, and have a little think. Just a little one might help. There is no swamp of lies that has been drowned. Try again.
But he's already got a job as an MEP hasn't he ?
I agree, Naomi, but the danger is that splitting the Brexit vote will leave us no further forward.
Maybe Donald has offered him a job.
It’s madness for the Brexit Party to stand 600 candidates. Even if they manage somehow to win a couple of seats somewhere, the effect of plastering the word “Brexit” over ballot papers the length and breadth of the country has got to be to dilute the “leave” vote up for grabs.
From my point of view, all well and good of course. But surely not from theirs.
Do people have to be do abusive to the OP? It’s perfectly fair to speculate that the reasons given by X for Y may not be the whole story. Whether you agree or not.
I can fully understand why ANYONE would not wish to partake in the quagmire that our venerable HoC has become (and is likely to continue as such after the GE).
Why is the Brexit Party standing 600 candidates I asked?
It may or may not, but of course they charged hopefuls £100 a time to apply to be a candidate.
Then it becomes clearer ....
The reason he won't stand is what he says - why ask?
But he now doing the wrong thing for the wrong reasons - he's going to squander valuable leave votes (says I) & he's spreading the lie that the new deal is Brexit in name only which it isn't & an article in today's Telegraph by MARTIN HOWE ;

[i] No, Mr Farage, Boris Johnson’s deal is not 'Brexit In Name Only' [i]

states clearly why, there are fundamental differences between it & the one put forward by Theresa May

The one good thing about Farago is his not acceding to Trump's begging (how dare that criminal from across the pond meddle in UK politics?)
