douglas, commenting is one thing. Giving out very personal information about somebody else is entirely different. In this case the Rhodes' family has asked for privacy and has not disclosed the cause of death.
I can comment on the fact that he has died, the family has made that public. Nobody outside the family has the right to give more personal details about the nature of the death.

Just heard this on the news. Very sad. Condolences to his family. RIP Gary.
Such sad news - "taken ill very suddenly at home" - a shock for all, I'm sure.

I always enjoyed watching him on TV, he seemed a real gentleman, a good soul with real passion for cookery.

My condolences to his family & friends - RIP Gary.
Too young - RIP Gary.
I'm very saddened by this, so young and such a brilliant chef. I have several of his early books and the recipes all work and are great. I didn't know he'd been in Dubai all that time; I remember that some years ago he came to a granddaughter's school during a 'nutrition' project week. She didn't know who he was but came home happy to have a bash at making pastry and all sorts of things and said she thought he was very nice. R.I.P. Gary, you are a loss.
