Although, I would very happily see full life terms with zero possibility of parole, and the sentence being served in uncomfortable conditions (this seems worse than death to me).
Merely as a 'by the way', I see it didn't take long on this thread for that hoary old chestnut of "state-sanctioned murder" to be trotted out - a ridiculous phrase if ever there was one.

Definitely! With all the forensic tests and evidence these days the results are usually conclusive. In this instance would anyone say that he is innocent? For the rest of his life at enormous expense he will be fed,housed,clothed probably have access to a computer and educational facilities. To what avail? What is the point of nourishing such an evil creature?In a short time all our prisons will be full to overflowing and as I have said before as the prisoners grow older they will possibly contract various illnesses and need hospital treatment. Or all the prisons will be full of geriatrics using zimmer frames . A lethal injection would quickly end their miserable lives. If they take a life then they should forfeit their own.
