He said, "All this hypocrisy makes you the worst people in the world to lecture the rest of us about morality or pretty much anything," then socked it to them:

"If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. If you win, thank your agent, thank your god, and f*** off."

Should we not hope that this is the beginning of the end of 'woke' hypocrisy?

//I doubt it will bring about a change in anyone's attitudes. //

Sadly you may for once be right. I can't see it changing the attitudes of the right on, self centred, up their own when they are not up somebody else's, (I do not mean noses) deluded, needy luvvies who were the target of the brutally truthful satire. Nurse.........more of the same required. Larger doses and more frequently please.
OG - that was the 11 O'Clock Show. I was a big fan.

Mamyalynne - have a look at his previous couple of Golden Globes opening monologues. They're hilarious. You should be able to get them on YouTube.

But even better is Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who took over from him for a couple of years. They were brilliant.

His last couple of appearances were excellent. You should be able to find them on YouTube.

But even better than him was Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. They took over from Ricky Gervais and were brilliant.

OG - the program you're thinking of is The 11 O'Clock Show.
I didn't think my first post went through!
// Not the end. Not even the beginning of the end of “woke” hypocrisy’s.//
not even a wake up call for woke hypocrisy

with thx to WC
// I can't see it changing the attitudes of the right on, self centred, up their own when they are not up somebody else's, (I do not mean noses) deluded, needy luvvies// and loud mouthed hypocrites

oh er you mean the standard AB poster ! ter daaah !
Whatever he was at, a roast is what he achieved.
I'll take a look after my meal sp thanks.
like the other thread, i said i must be the lone voice, that i dislike him intensely, he does nothing for me whatsoever.
Ah, it was indeed sp. Cheers.

I think the problem is, for everyone who despises the noise generated by the 'right-on hypocritical liberal intelligencia', there's someone else who despises the noise of the 'bigoted Breitbart-loving right wing morons'.

It's got to the point now, where the best course of action is to avoid the noise-makers.
Enjoyed Tina & Amy.
The White House Correspondents' Dinner is better satire as those made fun of are at least are 'supposed' not to be actors; of course only if the targets turn up but Trump won't play ball after this

Of course that could be as much a facade/ charade as the celebrity nonsense.
This was his fifth golden globes

He said what the mainstream media doesn’t and what the majority of the public thinks and although it was scripted and approved by lawyers it was still uncomfortable listening for the Hollywood luvvies.

A lot of it they laughed politely at rather than uproariously and they didn’t like it because it shone a light on their hypocrisy.

However having said that they will take not one blind bit of notice and carry on self congratulating themselves till the day they die.

The magnificent achievement here isn't altering the minds of the ersatz liberal lefty millionaires in the room, but perhaps making the droves of their mindless followers think again.
I've never liked him. This is the first time he's made me laugh.
I've never found the bloke to be funny in the slightest.
I'm in the US at the moment. He seems to have gone down very well here.
I'm really sorry, I'm obviously missing the point.

A host says words which will have gone through lawyers' fine tooth-combs so no possibility of any come-back and actors look amused/shocked/surprised.

It's amazing that people think that the whole thing wasn't scripted and rehearsed. He was bleeped out a couple of times.

Almost like the show's producers knew exactly what he was going to say.

Still, as long as it gives hope to people - good on Ricky!
