When it’s laid out like this, it seems pretty shocking.

What do you think the reasons are?

"that is the not-to-be-missed opportunity to take offence by proxy." I'm not sure that noting a obvious bias in reporting is taking offence on someones behalf. Just because I notice the sky is blue doesn't mean that I'm suddenly taking offence. An observation is exactly that and only that, Naomi. I think you need a sit down, you can't understand the point...

This is just one more example of the British habit of lifting someone up to star, "they can do no wrong, flavour of the month", status...and then dumping them in the dirt as if they are drenched in dog poo. Mistakes are unforgivable.
It's nasty and tiresome...and very predictable.
Brexit is infinitely more important and interesting than outdated royal families.

Good grief, who cares, get rid of the lot of them. They're rich enough to pay for themselves.
SP, //What you have said would make sense, and I totally agree with you - but I don’t think that’s diva behaviour.

That’s hypocrisy. //

Call it what you like. It's the way divas behave. They're 'entitled'.

As for the rest, I really can't see what you're talking about. The link shows only headlines. I've no idea of the stories behind them.
She was popular with the Press while she was just a 'girlfriend'. Certain sectors, those who still believe in duty and self sacrifice see her as 'not worthy' to be royal, while others -the younger 'Me Me generation- see her behaviour as normal, if not commendable.
First and foremost Meghan is an actress and probably a very good one. The interview with Tom Bradbury ,moist eyes, pitiful look .Didn't ring true for me. As for the bump issue ,she had a very annoying habit of not only holding onto it but constantly caressing it. Never noticed Kate doing that .
"those who still believe in duty and self sacrifice see her as 'not worthy' to be royal"

Why?
"he had a very annoying habit of not only holding onto it but constantly caressing it"

Imagine getting so annoyed over someone holding their baby bump that you make national negative news about it. Maybe concerns should be elsewhere.
The Devil -you would have to ask someone who holds those views. It was not my personal opinion ,it was an observation.
The whole ridiculous furore simply goes to prove they are doing the right thing.
Well AP, did they say "she's not worthy"? How do you know they don't think she's worthy, surely to know that they don't think she's worth you'd know why?
Oh really...should we care about how she holds her bump?? Ridiculous! All women are different...and shouldn't be singled out over how they hold or don't hold their bumps.
I may be wrong, but when has Kate ever discussed her feelings about her position in any interviews. Kate has something called integrity and provides no fodder for the press. I agree totally with Andre ^.
And agree with Pasta about the bump thing. It's of no consequence at all. Lots of women hold on to their bump and its not so people will notice it.
I agree Pasta. I agreed with Andre about his fist comment. Not about the bump.
SP, Right … the criticism you claim was about a dress she wore that was similar to one Kate wore wasn’t about the dress at all. It was about her nail polish. The article actually said // The Duchess of Sussex dazzled in a stunning black one-shouldered Givenchy gown //

https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1057157/meghan-markle-british-fashion-awards-black-nails-dress-royal-protocol-news

No wonder your tweeters use only carefully selected shock horror headlines.

Just goes to show you shouldn’t believe all you read, sp - unless it suits your purpose. ;o)
// As for the bump issue ,she had a very annoying habit of not only holding onto it but constantly caressing it //

Was she overheard doing an evil cackle when she was engaged in this unseemly caressing? I bet she was, the scheming witch.
Meghan comes from a society that has always been open about talking about feelings...and opinions. I'm sure her background as an actress has also encouraged this, so she's certainly more comfortable with it than Kate was at the same stage in her career as a royal.
Hah! My British ex used to criticise me for not being assertive and "more American"...can't win.
Crikey---All I said was that it was an annoying habit.Maybe it was the skin tight dress that she wore that was irritating her. Probably scratching an itch.
It could be a sort of protection Andre for her unborn child and those bumps can get uncomfortable or quite heavy!
I called mine my sack of potatoes...that's what she felt like. It also felt as if I could "drop" it.
