The problem with not being able to name him is that, whenever referring to the case now, it's Grace Millane that's named rather than her murderer.
Grace was British. If she'd been murdered in Britain then it would be no problem to report the name of her convicted murderer. So, personally, I don't have a problem with the Standard reporting his name to British readers. Technically, they've done it right in not allowing New Zealand readers to read his name (even though Kiwis could easily circumvent this technology if they chose to).
