Does he really think that banning flights from the Schengen area is going to limit Covid cases in the USA? Has no-one told him that Covid is no respecter of boundaries? Of course he wouldn't want to include flights from the UK in the ban as that would upset his mate Boris. I despair of his intelligence.

It has and the Proclamation says, "I have determined that it is in the interests of the United States to take action to restrict and suspend the entry into the United States, as immigrants or nonimmigrants, of all aliens who were physically present within the Schengen Area during the 14-day period preceding their entry or attempted entry into the United States."

Checking the planes that are currently showing on radar over Italy reveals that they are all from within or to the EU schengen area, apart from flights from North Arica( Morocco, Egypt, Libya, etc. and one from Ethiopia. This flight is a private Gulfstream IV and I suppose it could be Tom Hanks looking for a bowl of spaghetti.

Corbyloon - there's no way of checking that. If a Schengen area person flies into UK, there's no stamp on passport so they could easily hop on a plane to the US with no questions asked.

Meanwhile in the real world, the Saudi government has imposed travel bans on the European Union and Switzerland, along with India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka in South Asia. The Philippines in the Pacific, and Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Sudan and South Sudan in Africa. Ohh dear poor diddles is going to be in even more despair at the stupidity of all those administrations........isn't she?
